Lip Service
James 2:14-23 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There's a difference between saying and doing. There are many people that are willing to make the statement that they believe that Jesus is the son of God. On top of that is that there are those that will pat those people on the back and tell them that they are alright with God. Having your name on the church books doesn't give one more faith or make one saved. Some today say it all day long that they believe but nothing to prove it. There is a difference between saying it and doing it. Their are pastors that tell there congregants that all they have to do is simply say it and they'll be saved. "Repeat after me..." We still live in a society that state they're saved but have no true evidence of such. Getting saved is not anything that a preacher does but an operation that is done by Christ Himself. Just because you tell the devil to flee means nothing because it's the Holy Spirit that causes the devils to leave. Not everyone that says Lord, Lord will be in Heaven. Matt 7:22-23, Have we not done wonderful things in your name? Jesus Christ loves you and does not want you to go to Hell. Make sure you're saved! Even the Devils and Satan say they believe in God but as we all now they are ALL destined for Hell. The Holy Spirit MUST reveal unto you that you're lost before you can be saved. You can go thru the motions, say all the right things but if Christ hasn't invited and revealed to you then you're wasting your time and hurting others. James 2:23, Abraham said he believed God. But God tested him and thru his works/faith it was shown that he truly was a "Friend of God". Is you're faith real? Has it stood the test of time? Has it wavered? Is it your faith alone and not someone else's?

Bloom Where You're Planted
2 Kings 5:1-14 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
A lot of times people live in disappointment because they live a life of unbiblical nature. How many are truly faithful to God in the really tough times? Everything around you will change but God never changes. There is no reason to why we should be depressed all of the time, it's unbiblical. How many times to we put on the bullseye and just ask for the bad stuff to just hit us? We should choose to believe God no matter the circumstances. We should rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS. If you're walking around and state that you're suffering for Christ, then you're living a lie. We as a Christian have a responsibility to bring hope to the lost. The maid was a slave that was taken away from her family but she decided to bloom where she was planted. She had no control over her circumstances. You must decide if you're gonna be a victim or a victor. Greater is He that is in me than that who is in the world. You know you can't uncrack an egg or put the water back under the bridge. Did you know that NOT believing God is a sin? You realize that when one makes a statement of belief that, that in itself will cause one to welcome conflict. Do you pick and choose where you make your belief known? Folks are desperate for hope in this day in time. At what point in your life did attending church become hard?

Miracles Still Happen
1 Samuel 1:9-28 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God does the extraordinary. He is not ordinary. There are a lot of prosperity speaking about as long as you do for God, He will do whatever you want. That teaching is unbiblical and is the furthest thing from the truth. God does what He wants when He wants to based upon only the future that He knows. God is still in the miracle business. Four points Sincere desire, 1 Sam 1:11; Hannah asked a particular thing. A single male child that she would give back to God. How many times when the miracle happens we put our hands around it and claim the miracle and not whom gave it? Believe the giver, 1 Sam 1:18, Heb 11:6; we are to believe that He is and He will. With God all things are possible thru faith. We do not know the will of God. Have patience, 1 Sam 1:19-23, when the miracle finally shows up often the vow is forgotten. It's better to not make a vow than to make it and then break it. Must be obedient, 1 Sam 1:25-28; if you're disobedience to God then He will not bless. At times, one miracle will usually lead to another miracle but one must stick with it.

Being Planted
Psalm 92:12-15 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Verse thirteens importance is that there is nothing in this world that's more important than attendance in a church. Their attendance is important because Gods word when spoken will not go out in void. We shouldn't fail not to assemble ourselves together. Invest your life into the church of Jesus Christ. The purpose in planting something is to have it to flutist and grow. In order for a plant to grow it needs to be feed by light and water. Christ is the light of the world and He is the only one that can provide the living water. The things of the world will only last till death. Verse twelve talks about the palm tree. Palm trees love the heat and flourish. Their roots are not that long and they live in sand but they endure the high winds of a hurricane. Cedars in Lebanon were prized for their wood but the cedars around here never really root. They are strong and have been used repeatedly for years. Verse fourteen talks about bearing fruit at older ages. You're as only as old as you feel but the righteous of God will continue to bear fruit. You'll never retire at doing Gods work. Verse fifteen it all goes back to God. God is worthy to brag about. All these things are done to show that God is upright.

Be Still
Psalm 46:1-11 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Even when you're really still you're often times still busy within. Most everyone lives by some sort of timeline. Be still. Let go and let God. We must stop with the television, cell phone, etc. These things take up our times with God. A sacrifice is often made because we don't want to give up those things. A lot of our instruction requires us to be still. Check your "to do lists" and make sure that God is on it. At the top of the list should be, be still for God. One can't say that they don't have time to be still with God. There has always been 24 hours in the day. The problem is that stuff takes up that time and we are unwilling to remove the stuff and replace it with God. Make an effort to make time for God. Our schedules should have God in them and if they don't then what does that say? It will fall apart if I'm not involved. This is false, God is in full control and without Him it would fall apart. We are replaceable. Look in a graveyard and you'll see it full replaced people. The things they once did someone else has picked it up and are continuing it. Are we not like a person that's afraid of a bee? The devil comes around and we begin flailing around trying to stop him. All the while WE have no control over the devil by ourselves. God is the only one that can rid of of the devil and his pestering actions. We must put God first, be still. We must all graduate from kindergarten when it comes to our spiritual lives. Get off the milk and start consuming solid foods. Prayer along is alright but you need more Jesus to truly live. We must know Him, intimately, personally because He wants to hold us. God is asking us to stop and be still for just a moment so He can be close to us. Once you get to that place, hope grows as well as our faith.
