Wait Patiently
Psalm 40:1-3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
All of our faith is waiting on the Lord. There are a lot of times that we give up too soon. Does God answer prayers? If you've walked with Him any amount of time then you'll know that God answers prayers. If God has made a promise to you, it WILL come true. Most of the time when we pray, it requires some faith, thus patience. Should one pray for patience if it brings on trouble? It wouldn't require faith if we didn't have to wait for our answers from God. At times we do worry and stress over waiting. Don't jump ahead of what God is going to do. We can have rest while we are waiting. Have you ever felt like things were just falling apart. Patience is the hinge that everything hangs on, it's needed. Patience means hope. Patience doesn't come easy. Our hope is anchored by patience knowing that God will do all that He promised.
Preached by Tommy Boring on October 2, 2013 (Wednesday).
Come And See
John 1:35-46 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Experience is something that you can't learn, it's something that you have to be a part of. Nothing is hidden with God. All are invited to Him from the richest to the poorest, from the youngest to the oldest. Whatever you desire, just step out and seek Him. We live in a world that stands against Him but He still stands with out stretched arms. Do whatever you must do to seek His face. We allow to many hinderances to keep us away from God. You must start with faith. This all sounds simple to simply do, but when it comes times for your experience, satan steps in and throws an obstacle. Don't give up, step over those obstacles and head for Jesus.
Preached by Tommy Boring on April 14, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
Steal Away And Pray
Matthew 6:5-6 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
It pleases God for us to go to Him in prayer. If Jesus went to pray to God alone, then we should pray to God alone. We talk about the failures and troubles in our hearts the most, God said to pray alone about those things. Once you get alone with God, He will reveal things to you. When was the last time you were alone with God? Stop depending in others to pray for you. It's your responsibility to seek God in prayer.
Preached by Tommy Boring on March 3, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
The Formula To True Worship
John 4:19-26 (Part of the True Worship series).
We usually define worship by what we want. That is not true worship. What could happen if we all came in one mind and one accord. We sometimes plainly wonder into church half-hearted. Biblical examples of worship, Abraham went to worship, David went in fear and reverence to worship. Worship takes obedience, faith, fear of God and reverence. You don't have to fear the world, devil or any of his demons. God is the only one that should be feared. There is a difference between worship and praise, we must do both. The spirit and truth must be present in order for true worship to take place. God seeks those to worship Him.
Preached by Tommy Boring on October 28, 2012 (Sunday Morning).
Prayer + Patience = Answers
James 5:13-20 (Part of the Spiritual Maturity series).
There are things in our lives that we can't change and will never be changed in this life. We always pray when we are in troubles but, we hardly ever pray when we feel good with no troubles. If we live in sin God will NOT hear our prayers. We don't have a blank check for healing.
Preached by Tommy Boring on August 5, 2012 (Sunday Morning).
