Class is in Session
2 Peter 3:5 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We should be students of the Word. One of the things we excuse ourselves from is class. Some people do not like learning, but learning is the essence of growing. In order one to have an understanding, they must be taught. Nature is a teacher, 1 Corinthians 11:14. We are teachers to one another, Colossians 3:13. The Bible teaches us, Galatians 3:24, Romans 15:4. Do you think that Google is the answer? The Holy Spirit is a teacher, John 14:26. The Grace of God is a teacher, Titus 2:11-12. God is a teacher, Psalm 119:33-34.
Preached by Tommy Boring on March 16, 2014 (Sunday Evening).
What's My Purpose In Life?
2 Corinthians 4:1-7 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God has created us for His own Glory. God is changing us for a purpose. God has called us into a ministry if you've been born again. We should never give up, lay it down when He has called you out, born again. If you've been saved, you've been given you a gift. People normally need an example to follow by. People watch others and make their own mind up on what a Christian is. One that is saved needs to live their lives as so. Do not hide the gospel to the ones that need it. If one chooses not to go to church, the lost is watching that. If you've been saved, you've been given a purpose. Are you afraid that you can't live your faith without getting into trouble? Don't put an age limit on Gods work. Don't give God excuses on why you think you can't do something for Him. He called you into salvation knowing that you have a purpose. If you had no purpose, He would be through with you and bring you home.
Preached by Tommy Boring on September 8, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
He First Loved Us
1 John 4:14-21 (Part of the Communion Services series).
Our sin was so great that it took a lot to pay it. We must realize that He went there because He loved us. What kept Jesus on the cross? His love for us. The communion is to be a remembrance of what He did for everyone. We should love one another. We've had every opportunity to praise, worship and love Him. God commanded us to love one another. If you're not loving each other then you are sinning willfully. Let God work through you. Love is not just a word. The blood has always been an atonement for sin since the beginning of time.
Preached by Jeff Patton on June 2, 2013 (Communion).
We All Are Equal In The Sight Of The Lord
John 13:14-17 (Part of the Communion Services series).
You don't have to wash feet to get to heaven. Jesus set an example by washing one another's feet. We are no greater than our brothers or sisters. We were all made of dust and to the dust our bodies will return back to. Jesus came out of Glory where the streets are made of gold to die for all of our sins. Being saved will make you want to share Jesus, it will make you want to hug your neighbor. You've got to lay the world down and run to Him. Jesus promised only one chance to be saved. We were created to worship God. If God gives you something to do, do it.
Preached by Ronnie Inman on May 31, 2013 (Communion).
Ordering Your God From A Sears Catalog
Exodus 20:4-6 (Part of the God's Top Ten series).
If you heart is on things of this world, God is not pleased. An idol is a substitute for god. God forbids any image of a god. God forbids any image that is to represent God. God requires faith, not imagination. God is jealous of our affection. If you worship anything other than God, then you hate Him. For those that are guilty will be visited by God Himself. You can commit spiritual adultery without the whole family being affected by it. god will show mercy to those that truly worship Him.
Preached by Tommy Boring on September 5, 2012 (Wednesday).
