|Acts 9:1-19 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|Ananias was called to do a certain duty. Ananias was a certain disciple just like all of us that are called of God as being saved. Ananias' job was to simply obey.
One thing that Ananias had was that he was present in the time of need. Just as he, the saved should also be present. How many of the born again believers are absent from the work of God? We as the saved have a responsibility to be ready and willing to do what God calls you to do. If you're a child of God then you're able to do whatever God calls you to do. We should all as children of God be praying at all times.
Most all children of God are prone to great fear which is why we try to reason with Gods calling. Ananias had that same fear when he was called to visit Saul. Regardless of what God tells us to do, we should always be obedient. Faith grows when we obey God. One can talk about their faith all day but without works or proof it is dead.
From the front to the back door all we have to be as a Christian is willing to do what God tells us to do. Praying to God, listening to God, obeying God then doing what He says. Be honest with yourself, how would you rate yourself with the work of God?

|1 Thessalonians 5:12-28 (Part of the The Need For Christian Duties series).|
|In order to perform the Christian duties, one must be sanctified. Many will think they are doing His will but in their end, God will tell them that He never knew them.
Sanctified means, set apart. More importantly, separated from evil. The question is not about what's on the inside for if you've been saved, God dwells within. The truth is, is that the outside is flesh and it fails daily will always fail until it's made into a heavenly body.
2 Cor 6:17, a Christian should be different than the world. Heb 10:14, for a Christian the inside (soul) is what's made new, the outside remains the same. The outward is a constant battle to bring under subjection. 2 Tim 1:12, we as Christians can not keep our salvation because it wasn't us that saved us. Once we are saved, we are always saved. We as humans have plaques that trouble the flesh. Lusts of the flesh cause us as humans to fall short of His perfectness. However, we must repent of our sins when the sins are realized and pointed out by God. God has never made a mistake therefore when He saved you, it wasn't a mistake and He will not take it back. Gods word has not changed and will not change.
We should remove ourselves from the worldly things. Most don't like to step away because it sets the up to be ridiculed. How is anyone to know that a Christian is a Christian if they do the same things as a lost person? There's a lot of Christians that want to get better. The reason is because they want to bless God, He's worth it! But, serving God brings forth works and that's what the world will see. Now salvation is NOT about works, works is the result of salvation.
Titus 3:8, sanctification and works are linked because you can't have works from God until you've been sanctified. We as Christian should follow, obey and serve Him because we are in a great debt because God has paid for our sins. Please stop and make sure you're not going along with the crowd. Did you know that someone is ALWAYS watching you? Heb 10:24, you won't find a lot of talk about works in a Baptist church because it's easily confused for non believers. Just as its been said, works are the result of salvation. Works without salvation is just work and will not be recognized by Christ as works for Him in the end. Christians can't do the work of God on their own. In order to make Holy fruit, it has to start with something Holy. Are you saved? One can't move to the next step unless they've been saved. Check your heart, have you been saved?

|One Step Doesn't Make a Journey|
|Acts 2:41-42 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|It takes one step to start the journey. There is not one person that knows for how long they are going to live. So how are you going to live those steps? What matters is the dash between your birth date and death date. We have no choice of when we are born and likewise our death. Have we not wasted years of our lives on junk. God will examine our journey and the junk will all be burnt. If you're waiting for the Spirit of God to show up before you began to worship, if you're saved then the Spirit lives inside you. We all have our own minds to make up whether we serve God or not. No one else can serve God for you. If you have children in your life then they are always watching you which means you are constantly teaching them. So what are you teaching those children about church, God? God knows why you come to church and it's just as bad to attend church unwilling and hindering His word than to simply lay out. If you've been saved then you've been purchased therefore you no longer own yourself, you live for Him now. Now your life matters when it comes to God. It's not about just getting into Heaven. Does Wednesday matter? What about Tuesday? When does it become okay to not live for God? Who's choice was it to join the church? What happened then when you made the choice to not follow Gods Word about not failing to assemble themselves together in the church service?
The Primitive Baptist association are made up of several churches and was established back in 1802. Associations of churches are not usual but ours has been going on for over 200 years. If some people do not take an interest into the association, it will dissolve. Now the association can NOT get one into Heaven but there are some things that are important. Most of the pastors of NPPBC were not from NPPBC, they were from other churches.

|The Cross and the Crown (Part 1 of 2)|
|Galatians 6:11-14 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|The cross is an emblem of Jesus' sacrifice. The power of God is represented by the cross of salvation. Mat 16 tells us that we also have a cross to bear. The cross was not Jesus' to bear but our sins, but He bore them for all. Just because you might be sick or worried is not a cross to bear for Christ but a general ailment because we are human. The cross we must bear is of that after salvation, the flesh wants what the spirit can't have. It's a constant battle that is never ending being a child of God. How many are ashamed of their salvation hiding it from others? Is it a burden, no, it's a purpose from Christ. Each child of God has their own cross that they must bear and can only be carried by themselves. Why do we need a cross? It will keep one humbled. It was beyond the cross of Calvary that kept Jesus motivated. The cross will keep one to praying. Jesus prayed before in the garden because of the cross and what was to come. The cross has multiple purposes but the things of the flesh we should crucify daily. We should take those sins and fleshly wants to the cross and crucify them. So not only is the cross an emblem to the world of the power of God but it's also a help in the very time of need in removing fleshly wants. We should be giving ourselves as a living sacrifice. Too many people want to classify themselves as a Christian on Sunday but live like the world all the other days. A cross hung around ones neck is just a piece of jewelry and can't and won't make one a Christian. The cross is the belief that Jesus Christ hung and died for your sins.|

|Spectators of the Work|
|Luke 10:1-12 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|Whatever hinders you from doing what the Word of God says, you need to deal with. The hardest IS great! How many days go by without you saying anything to a lost person about your salvation. Isa 5:18 Hell is growing larger and larger each day. God plainly says to go out into the world and compel them to come to church. Once you're born again or saved you're job has just begun NOT that you should just sit back and do nothing. You as the saved are the only gospel some may ever see or know. The great falling away is NOT an excuse that you can ever give to God for your lack of care for the lost. Many once they leave the church house, preacher or the church members they begin to act, dress and talk like the world. A saved person should be a different people called out amongst the lost. Do you realize that your brain could simply stop functioning and any given moment? Your heart could stop and the flip of a switch. God controls your life and we should act like it. You've got the answer to the lost persons need for salvation if you're born again. The sad news is that not everyone will be saved because they will reject Gods only son, Jesus Christ. This is fact and truth from the Word of God and can not be changed but, this doesn't give a saved person the excuse to not share Jesus with them. If you've got a big work to do then you should have a lot of people to do it or it will never get done. The preacher can not reach every lost person, that's why we as the saved must go out and compel them to be born again. So what do you do if you don't have enough workers, you go out and get more. When the harvest is ready, then you must get it in, work it. There are a lot of spectators that want to see the work of God but unwilling to surrender to God and do His work. Jesus went far and beyond for your life, why can't you go that far for Him? What do you have to lose? The Lord of the harvest is God and we should be praying to Him for more workers, help. We are not to pray harder for the lost, we need more help. The church doesn't need more bodies in the building, they need more workers. If a company had 100 employees that just sat and did nothing, the company would fail. But if a company had 100 employees that all worked, the company would grow and flourish. God has called everyone that's saved for a work and we should ALL be doing it. What's your purpose of being saved? The preacher has just as much responsibility as the lay member. Gal 4:8, Luke 4:14 God already wants to save the lost, John 3:16, so we can stop asking Him to do what He already wants to do. The problem is that God needs workers and we are unwilling to work and just want God to do what we want. The story of the little red hen. We have a reward coming for the work that God has called us to do, but we have to do it to receive it. If something in your life keeps you from doing the will of God, remove it, cut it out of your life. Everyone wants to see God, go to heaven, want the reward...|
