The Warning On Sin
James 1:13-16 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
No one is exempt from sin. Some believe that they have a license to sin once they've been saved. If you think that way, you might be lost because once you've been saved you're a new creature and will not want sin in your life. Most sin is brought about by the lust of the flesh. It's not a sin to have nice things or things that you want but if God said not to have it, it's a sin to have them because you disobeyed Gods Word. The devil watches and knows what your tempted with and will use those to pull you away from God. Once you take action on covetousness then you've made a choice therefore conceiving sin. Being by yourself means you have no accountability and you're likely to stumble more often. Being idle too long will cause one to fall into sin. Surrounding yourself with other Christians will keep you from sinning than being left alone. Anything that you've got to hide in secret is wrong. So if you can't tell anyone else about it or do it in secret, then you need to ask God if it's of Him. What good is sin and how does it benefit us? If one brings sin into their life it WILL affect everyone around them. Sin will ALWAYS bring forth death, always have, always will.

It's About a Choice
Deuteronomy 30:15-20 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Many make Salvation a difficult thing. In the beginning God made Adam and Eve to have their own choice. There is nothing that you can do to separate you from the love of God. It's not difficult to make a decision, do you want life or death? God didn't make Adam or Eve love Him. He didn't make Moses to love Him, therefore He's not going to make you love Him either. You have a choice, He will not make you to be saved. The greatest of joys is to serve someone else. Have you made up your mind on who you will serve? One can't serve two gods, you will either love one and hate the other. No one is made to love God, it's a freedom that we all have whether we love Him. By default we are going to hell because we must choose God. It's an eternal choice that must be made once the invitation has been received because we don't know if we will take another breath. God wants you to choose Him because He loves you but in the end, it's completely up to you. Some keep going the wrong direction but expect different results. The table has been set full, the invitations have gone out, you're starving to death but, you just sit and watch other feast on the goodness of God. You can starve yourself to death. Have you made up your mind? Who are you going to serve? That simple choice will change you forever.

Right On Time
Joshua 14:12 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Gods always right on time. Satan won't attack you when you're up on the mountain top with God but just wait till you start back down to the valley. Just a little talk with Jesus will calm the troubles in your life. Once you realize what Jesus did for you, you're about to get a blessing! Joshua 14:12 There's times that there are giants in our life in the form of trials and tribulations. We need to ask God not to remove the trials, mountains but to simply help us to climb it. No matter what comes your way that trouble you, Jesus is bigger than anything. The only thing that matters at the end of time or your time is if the Blood of Christ has been applied to your soul. Your works and good deeds are not good enough for heaven.
Preached by James Willis on April 12, 2017 (Wednesday).
Would He Die?
John 19:28-37 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There was never a question that Jesus would live, but if He would die. Jesus Himself had a hard time with His own death because He prayed to His father for an alternate method. Jesus told us that they would kill Him but He would raise again on the third day. Jesus wasn't sent to live, He was sent to die. When Jesus turned lose of life, He made it so that we also could live forever. Jesus did whatever He wanted to do during His death. In order for those that had died before Him to have a chance to believe in Him, He had to die as well to get them. The devil tried at ever chance he had to stop Jesus, from His birth all the way to the cross.

There is One Foundation
Isaiah 28:16 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God laid the foundation. He laid down the stone. It was laid for you and me. Not by man. There is only one foundation. It is Christ. We are to be built upon the foundation. To be master builders with our lives, building on that pe felt foundation. There is only one foundation. Once we die the structure will perish but the foundation will remain. Christ's sacrifice was the foundation. That's where it all begins. The single stone. You must come thru Christ to find God. Once you're founded in and on the foundation, nothing can shake you off it. Like the wise man who built his house upon the rock. The storms will come but the house will stand because the foundation is sure. God is the ever-present source of strength and when the storms pass He still stands. What have you built your house on? If you're anchored in Jesus, nothing can overcome a child of God. The foundation of God is a tried and precious stone. Weeping endures for a night but joy comes in the morning. Christ is the hope, precious, love and essence of who Christians are. The house decays in the storm but the foundation holds.
