Prepare Yourselves
Mark 1:1-11 (Part of the Communion Services series).
Jesus warned us that we should prepare ourselves to eat and drink of His body. God commanded them to make offerings unto Him as an atonement of their sins. It's all a very serious thing. It wasn't but a few years ago people knew that God was serious. People young and old, saved and lost, respected who God was and still is today. The bible tells us in the beginning a certain man would come as a final atonement for ALL sins. Throughout the bible we read of this man. The way to Heaven. Christ Himself said that He was going to prepare a place for Himself AND for us. There is but only one way to Heaven and that is thru Jesus Christ and NO other way, He Himself said this.

Get the Good Stuff
Hebrews 9:1-15 (Part of the Communion Services series).
Jesus prayed in the garden for His fathers will to be done that if there was another way that it be done. God knew that it would take His son to remove the sins of the world therefore there was no other way. God gave the best He had for the sins of the world. Many people are proud of their sins and make them something of importance. When Jesus prayed in the garden He prayed that the cup be passed, so what was in the cup? Sin... He knew that he would have to take on and drink in the sin. The sin would become Him just as when we take of the wine. The sin also has a savor, a bitterness. We know that when Christ died on the cross that He drunk the entire cup of sin and took the bitter sting of death. Jesus, in the garden, knew what a He was about to go thru and therefore was in agony. He was under so much stress that He began to sweat blood. Jesus knew with every step of the way what was going on. The "court" was completely against Him and so was the people. Jesus was human but He was also God. His flesh was just that, flesh, it was weak but His spirit was strong and kept His flesh moving. With each step He took and each whip He withstood, He was lifting the sin filled cup closer and closer to His lips. Since the beginning of time the altar had cried out for a sacrifice. Adam and Eve had a sacrifice made for them in order to cover their nakedness. Lambs and doves were used as sacrifices for the sins of many in the temples. When Jesus gave a his life as a living sacrifice for everyone's sins, the altar was finally satisfied and it no longer cries out. One of the cries from the cross was, why did God turn away from Jesus? Sin will separate you from God. When Jesus took our sins upon Himself, the sin made a Him feel as if He was separated from God. Just as a Christian sins they feel a separation from God and must repent to get close to God again.

Be a Spongebob
1 Corinthians 13:1-13 (Part of the Communion Services series).
If you're born again, you're seeking a city called Heaven. Those that are born again will testify about the goodness that God has performed for them. We should all come to Jesus as a little child, humbled before God. God takes care of His children just as a parent takes care of their children. The children should grow in the spirit of God because they need strength to put away the devil. If you're waiting until you get old, get sick or after you've "lived your life", you're waiting and gambling with your eternal life. No person knows when they will die. Soak up as much of Jesus as you can in your Christian life. Whether you're young and saved or old, soak up Jesus. Allow God to be your teacher and learn as much as you can. Once you learn something, let others know. Share your faith with others as you grow. Be an example. If you're born again, live your salvation and not a backslid life. You have a responsibility to be an example for Christ and we will be judged for our shared lives.

The Sacred Communion
John 6:44-58 (Part of the Communion Services series).
All the physical pain that Jesus Christ went through was nothing compared to the separation between Him and His Father. Communion is a Holy right and should not be taken lightly. Only the saved should take part in the communion as those without salvation will be judged. If you have sin or an ought between you and someone else, you should repent of it prior to the communion service. God wants to commune with us but sin keeps Him from doing so. Jesus came down from Heaven being equal with God to perform an act lower than a slave. He washed His disciples feet humbling Himself to show His love towards them.

In Remembrance
(Part of the Communion Services series).
We've come together this weekend to make ready. We come together to remember what Christ did for us. Our Fathers love is no different for one as it is for another. He called us all to preach, share the gospel to the lost of the world. Why did Christ come to earth as a man, to save us all from sin. We must be ready, blemish free just as the unleavened bread, flour and water. When the water is mixed with the flour it becomes one body. Jesus said to watch and be ready, just as the second coming. Just as the bread had to be broken, so was Jesus' flesh broken. Jesus was beaten because He had to be for our sins, He had to suffer. He was beat because He took our chastisement of sin. During Jesus' time the people cried to crucify Jesus because they only serve one God and that was Caesar. Caesar represents the world today and the people of today want to serve the world. The wine represents the blood of Christ. In order for wine to be made it must be pure and it's also alive. It didn't take a drop of His blood but all of it to clean us of our sins. Jesus had to pay our sin debt all alone because God turned His back on Him because God can't look upon sin. People that die lost will suffer darkness and great pain. Those of us that are saved will never feel that because Jesus took that from our death. Our feet are not washed because they are dirty. The custom was to wash your feet when you enter a house. We wash feet because we are all servants to each other, to stay humble to each other.
