Where Is Your Faith? (Part 2)
Daniel 3:16-30 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
|There are things about this world that it's not for God. There are those today that are told to deny their God and worship another God and if they don't death comes to them quickly. One shouldn't be a fool to those things in this world because we have been warned of those tests. One should make their mind up right now in whom they are going to serve no matter the circumstance. Just as the three men in Dan 3:16-30, they knew what was coming because they could watch the man made god being built. What kind of faith does it take to stand against a false god? The size of the faith is not the issue, it's the God behind it.
They were convinced, confidence and committed. They were also respectful in their attitude. Three were put in the furnace but four was seen. When they were called back out, three came out leaving the fourth one in the fire. In the time of your troubles, fiery times, God will be with you.
The world wants nothing to do with God . They try every way possible to remove Him each and every day. The bible is not just for Sunday's, it's also not just emergencies. Owners manuals are given out in order to know how to operate things just as the bible was given to know how to live and worship God.

One Step Doesn't Make a Journey
Acts 2:41-42 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
|It takes one step to start the journey. There is not one person that knows for how long they are going to live. So how are you going to live those steps? What matters is the dash between your birth date and death date. We have no choice of when we are born and likewise our death. Have we not wasted years of our lives on junk. God will examine our journey and the junk will all be burnt. If you're waiting for the Spirit of God to show up before you began to worship, if you're saved then the Spirit lives inside you. We all have our own minds to make up whether we serve God or not. No one else can serve God for you. If you have children in your life then they are always watching you which means you are constantly teaching them. So what are you teaching those children about church, God? God knows why you come to church and it's just as bad to attend church unwilling and hindering His word than to simply lay out. If you've been saved then you've been purchased therefore you no longer own yourself, you live for Him now. Now your life matters when it comes to God. It's not about just getting into Heaven. Does Wednesday matter? What about Tuesday? When does it become okay to not live for God? Who's choice was it to join the church? What happened then when you made the choice to not follow Gods Word about not failing to assemble themselves together in the church service?
The Primitive Baptist association are made up of several churches and was established back in 1802. Associations of churches are not usual but ours has been going on for over 200 years. If some people do not take an interest into the association, it will dissolve. Now the association can NOT get one into Heaven but there are some things that are important. Most of the pastors of NPPBC were not from NPPBC, they were from other churches.

How To Be Happy
Psalm 1:1-6 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
|What's going on in our world right now? Just a few years ago folks loved to worship God and couldn't wait to worship God and depending on God for everything. The devil has come to steal, kill and destroy. For all of us there is two parts to us, a flesh and a spiritual. Blessed is the man that doesn't walk with the world. Satan doesn't want us to tell anyone about the goodness of God or invite folks or even yourself to church. So how can a man or woman be happy? There is only one thing that can make one happy. Which would you rather have, something that's temporary or something that's eternal?

Prepare Our Hearts For The Ditch
Luke 10:25-37 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Lack of compassion, mercy and love. It must be things that are done but not said. A lot of us are talkers but not doers. Anyone can love someone that loves them back but on the flip side it's loving those that don't love back. If we loved as God loves it wouldn't matter about race, money or class. Luke 6:27-36 how many of those can you say you've gotten right and done them according to His word? It's not in a humans mind to be kind to those that hurt us. An excerpt from "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire" -Jim Cymbala "Dear God, I know that You died for everyone in my community. I know You suffered, bled and died for every human being walking outside my church. So Lord, tomorrow I pray in the Name of Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, call them in; any color, homeless, poor. Bring them in. We'll love them. We'll be Your hand extended to them. We will nurse them. We will bless them. We will weep over them. Send them in, O God, in Jesus' Name." Are you willing to say that prayer? No one was worthy of his love and we were all in the lowest of lowest. When the sinner does come in they all come in, in all forms. We often have stereotyped the unclean and the visual appearance of those that we feel are unworthy of a Gods and our love. Sin comes in a suit and tie or in nothing at all, tattoos from head to toe or not a tattoo at all, from the cleanest to the dirtiest, from no hair to the longest hair. This world is nasty, dirty and stinks but God called us to love the sinners just as He loves them. The problem is that there are no workers, no one to love them that are in the nastiest of ditches. We try to say that we don't have a neighbor but what God says that your neighbor is ANYONE that you pass or meet. Don't we like to make excuses to why we can't help because we've got something to do, we are too busy? We should go out to the hedges, where people hang out and do things in secret and try to bring them to Christ. An excerpt from "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire" -Jim Cymbala I've been rebuked by the Lord many times because what I am preaching to you, I've had to learn. I will tell you the story of how God corrected me one day. On Easter Sunday some years ago, we had an outreach in the last service, and a girl in the choir which Carol, my wife, conducts gave her testimony in between some of the songs. She had been saved out of deep sin. Then I preached the Gospel. People came forward. At that time we were having three services a day, each two hours long. That Easter Sunday I was so tired at the end of the day that I just went to the edge of the platform, pulled down my tie and sat down and draped my feet over the edge. The prayer workers were praying for people I had invited to receive Christ. I was sitting there bone tired. There had been lines outside. We had turned hundreds of people away for lack of space. As I was sitting there I looked up the middle aisle, and there in about the third row was a man who looked about fifty, disheveled, filthy. He looked up at me rather sheepishly, as if saying, "Could I talk to you?" We have homeless people coming in all the time, asking for money or whatever. So as I sat there, I said to myself, though I am ashamed of it, "What a way to end a Sunday. I've had such a good time, preaching and ministering, and here's a fellow probably wanting some money for more wine." He walked up. When he got within about five feet of me, I smelled a horrible smell like I'd never smelled in my life. It was so awful that when he got close, I would inhale by looking away, and then I'd talk to him, and then look away to inhale, because I couldn't inhale facing him. I asked him, "What's your name?" "David." "How long have you been on the street?" "Six years." "How old are you?" "Thirty-two." He looked fifty; hair matted; front teeth missing; wino; eyes slightly glazed. "Where did you sleep last night, David?" "Abandoned truck." I keep in my back pocket a money clip that also holds some credit cards. I fumbled to pick one out thinking, I'll give him some money. I won't even get a worker. They are all busy praying with others. Usually we don't give money to people. We take them to get something to eat. I took the money out. David pushed his finger in front of me. He said, "I don't want your money. I want this Jesus this girl was talking about, the One you were talking about, because I'm not going to make it. I'm going to die on the street." I completely forgot about David, and I started to weep for myself. I was going to give a couple dollars to someone God had sent to me. See how easy it is? I could make the excuse I was tired. There is no excuse. I was not filled with the Spirit. I was not seeing him the way God sees him. I was not feeling what God feels. But oh, did that change! David just stood there. He didn't know what was happening. I pleaded with God, "God, forgive me! Forgive me! Please forgive me. I am so sorry to represent You this way. I'm so sorry. Here I am with my message and my points, and You send somebody and I am not ready for it. Oh, God!" And God baptized me afresh with love. Something came over me. Suddenly I started to weep deeper, and David began to weep because he could feel what was happening in me. He fell against my chest as I was sitting there. He fell against my white shirt and tie, and I put my arms around him, and there we wept on each other. The smell of His person became a beautiful aroma. Here is what I thought the Lord made real to me: if you and Carol don't love this smell, I can't use you, because this is why I called you where you are. This is what you are about. You are about this smell. It's beautiful. Christ changed David's life. He started memorizing portions of Scripture that were incredible. We got him a place to live. We hired him in the church to do maintenance, and we got his teeth fixed. He was a handsome man when he came out of the hospital. They detoxed him in about six days. He spent that Thanksgiving at my house. He also spent Christmas at my house. When we were exchanging presents, he pulled out a little thing and he said, "This is for you." It was a little white hanky. It was the only thing he could afford. A year later I had him give his testimony. The minute he took the mic and began to speak, I said, "The man is a preacher." This past Easter I helped ordain David. He's an associate pastor of a church in New Jersey. And I was so close to saying, "Here, take this; I'm a busy preacher." We can get so full of ourselves.

Spectators of the Work
Luke 10:1-12 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Whatever hinders you from doing what the Word of God says, you need to deal with. The hardest IS great! How many days go by without you saying anything to a lost person about your salvation. Isa 5:18 Hell is growing larger and larger each day. God plainly says to go out into the world and compel them to come to church. Once you're born again or saved you're job has just begun NOT that you should just sit back and do nothing. You as the saved are the only gospel some may ever see or know. The great falling away is NOT an excuse that you can ever give to God for your lack of care for the lost. Many once they leave the church house, preacher or the church members they begin to act, dress and talk like the world. A saved person should be a different people called out amongst the lost. Do you realize that your brain could simply stop functioning and any given moment? Your heart could stop and the flip of a switch. God controls your life and we should act like it. You've got the answer to the lost persons need for salvation if you're born again. The sad news is that not everyone will be saved because they will reject Gods only son, Jesus Christ. This is fact and truth from the Word of God and can not be changed but, this doesn't give a saved person the excuse to not share Jesus with them. If you've got a big work to do then you should have a lot of people to do it or it will never get done. The preacher can not reach every lost person, that's why we as the saved must go out and compel them to be born again. So what do you do if you don't have enough workers, you go out and get more. When the harvest is ready, then you must get it in, work it. There are a lot of spectators that want to see the work of God but unwilling to surrender to God and do His work. Jesus went far and beyond for your life, why can't you go that far for Him? What do you have to lose? The Lord of the harvest is God and we should be praying to Him for more workers, help. We are not to pray harder for the lost, we need more help. The church doesn't need more bodies in the building, they need more workers. If a company had 100 employees that just sat and did nothing, the company would fail. But if a company had 100 employees that all worked, the company would grow and flourish. God has called everyone that's saved for a work and we should ALL be doing it. What's your purpose of being saved? The preacher has just as much responsibility as the lay member. Gal 4:8, Luke 4:14 God already wants to save the lost, John 3:16, so we can stop asking Him to do what He already wants to do. The problem is that God needs workers and we are unwilling to work and just want God to do what we want. The story of the little red hen. We have a reward coming for the work that God has called us to do, but we have to do it to receive it. If something in your life keeps you from doing the will of God, remove it, cut it out of your life. Everyone wants to see God, go to heaven, want the reward...
