Are You A Neighbor?
Luke 10:25-37 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
A lot of times we try to justify ourselves instead of trusting that God knows best. God knows everything about so He knows when we are trying to get out of doing something we aught not do. You'll never be right with God if you're not right with someone else. So who is your neighbor? Your neighbor is anyone that you come into contact with. We can't mark people off or right them off because they look, act or smell a certain. Are you a neighbor? Are you in the position to where you allow things to blind you from loving someone? Are you loving others as you love yourself? Are you actively involved with others showing them that Christ died for them just as He died for you? We have NEVER merited Gods love for us. We have no right to Christ. Christ bled and died for everyone and not just a select few. How far are you willing to go? Most have a certain amount of compassion but it's limited. Once that limit is met then the compassion ends and goes no further. You realize that Christ was the neighbor that noticed you in the ditch, cut up, bruised and bullied by the world and yet He got in the ditch with you and rescued you! He came to where you were and lifted you up! Every unbeliever is on their way to death faster and faster with each breath they take. But Christ is reaching down to the lost and asking to just take a His hand. He will pull them out of the ditch they are in and set them on a full of life path. Mat 7:12
Preached by Tommy Boring on January 13, 2019 (Sunday Evening).
Knock, Knock
Revelation 3:20 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Those that have been called of God to preach have an obligation to do His work. It's the responsibility and the authority to preach the Word that is NOT watered down. The preacher can not save a person. The church can not save a person. The Word of God should does not go out in void. Not everyone that attends church is going to Heaven. The enemy is always amongst us all and he does whatever he can to distract you from getting close to God. Titus 2:11, Christ goes out to people, it doesn't work the other way around. A false preaching today is that one can simply call on God whenever the time is right. God does not work on your time but His own. There's not a single person that sits and waits everyday for someone to knock. When God comes to your house He will knock because your house is locked. Some people hide when someone comes knocking unexpectedly because they don't want what's being offered. Just as God comes knocking, He will visit unexpectedly and He waits. He doesn't knock and leave or run away. He knocks and patiently waits. Little children when they get saved their doors are usually not as shut, locked and barricaded because they've not been exposed to Satan's lies and deceit. 2 Peter 3:9, God doesn't want anyone to parish. God doesn't force Himself into your house. He will knock, call your name, patiently wait and do anything spiritually possible to get you to invite Him in. Just as anyone visits someone, they will wait for awhile patiently. One doesn't know how long they will wait or if they will ever come back. God does the same thing. He's standing, waiting but He will not stay there forever. Only YOU can open your door. No one else can open your door but you. One will not open the door until they accept the fact that they want Him to come in. When God is invited in He comes in and cleans house. He brings His own things and removes the old stuff. When the king moves in He will bring love, joy, peace, and all of His other furniture. He'll take all of your old dirty stuff and cast it away never to be used again.
Preached by Tommy Boring on September 2, 2018 (Sunday Morning).
Something's Missing
Luke 15:11-14 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
A lot of us want things that we think we are owed. We were owed death and hell but God seen otherwise. Some of us question Gods word for us and think we know better. There is a place in your heart that needs filled and during your life you'll try to put things in that hole to try to fill it. Nothing in this world will ever fill that void. Jesus is the ONLY thing that's able to fill that void and He will never leave that void once it's filled with Him. Repeating a prayer, having a prayer prayed over you by the pastor or having your name on a church membership doesn't make you saved or fill that void. If you think you've struck a deal with God that gives you the ability to do what you want (sin) then you've been badly mistaken. You're in the wrong. God has a plan for everyone, it's just a matter of accepting His call in your life. If you avoid His call, He will try to get your attention. Sometimes it takes a lot, sometimes it takes very little to grab your attention. A lot of times folks are scared of what you'll have to give up once you turn your life over to God. God will never leave you and if He calls you, He WILL carry you thru whatever He's called you to do. What God has done for us is just beautiful. We ALL fall short of the Holiness of Gods Glory but repentance and forgiveness gets us closer and closer. When you ask for forgiveness and you get that forgiveness, God doesn't hold it over you but in fact gives the feasts of feasts because He loves you.

If there is someone that thinks that Hell is just a big party and not that it of deal, they're completely in the wrong. Hell is to be feared and there will never be a "party" but torments and a fire that will never burn up the flesh and will never cease.

Preached by Dustin Parks on August 6, 2017 (Sunday Morning).
Deal With It!
Colossians 3:1-9 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The truth is the bible whether anyone wants to believe it or not. There are things that we all have problems lining up with. The things that separate us from Christ and the joys that behold Him are worldly and sinful. Col 3:5 We want to excuse ourselves of certain things just because we don't want to deal with those sins. The problem with a living sacrifice is that it keeps squirming and never sits still. We should stop fornicating. Fornication is sex at any measure outside of marriage. Uncleanness is lewd and unclean thoughts and should be repented of. Inordinate affections are vile desires, homosexuality. Evil concupiscence is evil lusts, murder. These four things are fleshly lusts. Covetousness is the lust of the eyes, love of the world. Theses things are often tied to the pride of life, anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, and filthy communication. Anger should always be taken care of and not dwelt on. Wrath is similar to anger and is a product of it. Wrath is somewhat you should have dealt with and usually requires forgiveness of the worldly enemy. Wraths revenge is malice. Blasphemy is speaking evil. The tongue is like the rudder of a large ship, it's small but turns the entire ship. Blasphemy and filthy communication is due to the anger, wrath and malice that comes out verbally. Our speech should be the one thing that when others hear it they know it's of Christ. God hates a lie because it's the opposite of truth. One might think, it's just a little white lie. One should be careful because if it doesn't line up with Gods Word, it's wrong whether you think it was little or not. One of the reasons why we should deal with the above sins, Col 3:6 those things are what a lost person does. If you're saved and do those things then you're living in sin and asking for Gods wrath because you're living a hypocrites life. The saved knows the difference between doing those sinful things and living in Gods love. If a person still wants the old stuff, then your lost. When you're saved you no longer desire the sinful nature because you're a new person in Christ.
Preached by Tommy Boring on September 4, 2016 (Sunday Morning).
Do You Wash Daily?
John 13:2-15 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Not only do we need to give but we also need to receive. Once you've become saved, you've become a new creature, no longer wanting the evil of the world. If you don't repent to God, then you'll have no part of Him. Those that do things for themselves, the Truth is not in them. We should be drawing closer everyday of our lives to God. If God has forgiven you, then you should also forgive others. If you know of something that needs to be fixed amongst you and a brother, you'll hold everyone else back until it's fixed between you and that person. Ephesians 4:31-32
Preached by Rick Rutherford on December 10, 2014 (Wednesday).
