Pruned To Perfection
John 15:1-2 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
When you prune things you cut them back. You have to prune things back in order to make it flourish. Not anyone can simply begin pruning, one must learn how to prune in order for the plant to flourish. All of us could confess that things pop up in our lives that take our focus off the main thing. Gal 5:22-23 are all fruits of the Spirit. We should look into the areas where the opposite of the fruits are growing. From a business aspect, they are always looking for ways of making more money, cutting out those things that waste money. Mat 5:16, Gods aim in your life is to make you more fruitful. Just as the fruit gardener is, God is patient. If you're grafted into the true vine then God will prune away all of the things that are unproductive. The fruit we bare is not to give glory to the branch. How fruitful are you? If you're truly attached to the vine then the vine cares about what type of fruit your growing and sharing.
Preached by Tommy Boring on January 16, 2019 (Wednesday).
All For His Glory
Philippians 1:3-6 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God does all the work concerning salvation. God began to seek us out for salvation. After He seeks us then after we accept Him, He sanctifies us. We can not keep ourselves through salvation. When God saves us, He does it eternally. When God saves He changes us into a new creature. If you love God and are one of His, you will follow His commandments. Being saved means you are obedient and will bear fruit. Being saved is not just making a profession, it's repentance, belief and faith. Being saved is not a life of ease and luxury. When the saved sins, we should know it and be sorrowful for sinning. The devil will tell you that you can continue in sin after being saved. Being saved means that when you do sin, you repent and continue to repent.
Preached by Lucas Boring on February 23, 2014 (Sunday Evening).
Chill Out! (Part 2)
Psalm 23:1-2 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We've all been through different things in our lives. But The Lord is still our Shepard. God feeds us what we need and when we need it, physically and spiritually. Sometimes the hard stuff was from God and not the devil. The color green is a reference to external or everlasting. People without God as their Shepard will do anything for peace and happiness.
Preached by Tommy Boring on January 6, 2013 (Sunday Morning).
Are You Happy?
