Pray
1 Thessalonians 5:17 (Part of the The Need For Christian Duties series).
One way to rejoice more is to pray more. There was a need to pray back in biblical times and for today. The problem then was that people didn't pray like they should just as today's time, Luke 18:1. I Luke 18 we read of a parable about a woman that kept asking for help. In the end the woman was granted her request because the judge was tired of her asking. How much more does God love us than that of the judge? Do you expect and answer immediately from God when you pray? Do you expect your request to be answered the way you want it when you pray? Do you even pray, pray without ceasing?

Why pray? Matt 26:41, one prays better when there is trouble in their life. So why do we pray? We pray because we are weak. We don't have the answers.

When to pray? Now Daniel prayed morning, noon and night. If we are not careful that will be the mandate that we will place on our prayer time. We should always be praying and reaching to Him. Every time that it is possible, we should be praying.

What to pray? Prayer is no more than opening your heart and knowing whom you're speaking to. Did you know that God already knows why and what we are praying for or about? Recognize whom God is, it should always have praise to God. We need some bread, we must be honest, bread is what we depend on God for. Our breath is our bread. Our body that works by itself, God controls, is our bread. A man can not forgive you of your sins no matter whom the man is. When we pray we should be asking what we need from within our hearts.

How to pray? The best example of this is when Jesus was in the garden praying, Matt 26. Jesus was fervent and was also honest. God is not fooled by a big speech. We should be open with God, He's not surprised. If you've got an problem with someone then you've got to be honest because He will want you to take care of the problem. So you didn't like how God answered your prayer, be honest about it. Fervent means that it's one on one. You must find alone time with God.

Will you pray? Every time the doors are open to the church we are always asking one to pray? It's always an open invitation to pray. No one is holding you back from praying. He's not fooled by you avoiding to pray.

Are You Listening?
John 7:32 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God simply has to speak and things happen. God speaks to us still to this very day. The same voice that spoke the world into form. The same voice that calmed the seas. One simple thing about God's voice is that we all hear it unless it's hindered by our own sin. We get to a place where we are hardened to the truth. We hear God's word taught so often that we think nothing of it. The problem is not the speaker, but the one hearing. To those of us that are saved, He has already spoken to us and has cleared the doubt away. God has called but we lack obedience to do. God spoke to Peter and asked him several time if he loved Him. It wasn't that Peter couldn't hear Him. It was that God was asking him a deeper question, wanting a deeper answer. Peter wasn't listening with his heart, only his mind. Still to this day, God is speaking to us but we do not listen with our hearts. When God speaks it will either get rejected or accepted. Either way it will NOT go out void. We can blame our deafness on anything and everything but the truth is, it's our sins that causes it and our pridefulness to keep it. Do you feel that you've got a hard time in life? The work in others is not validation of Gods Word, God's Word is validation of itself. He speaks to everyone which is the validation.

Been Made Conquers
1 John 5:4-5 (Part of the Does He Abide Within? series).
Some will say that the church will fall. People have always tried to do away with God but He is still in control whether we like it or not. Whether lost or saved, we will all stand in front of Him at judgement. The devil doesn't have power over the children of God. If Gods for you who can be against you? Doing and saying has nothing to do with having the victory of God. Many of Gods children walk around with their heads hanging low. Jesus Himself said that we that are born again would have troubles and trials. Even Jesus had trials and just as He overcame them, we will too. Do you feel as if God has failed you? God will never leave you in the valley and He will never leave you on the mountain top. Faith is what makes us overcomes and we must exercise it regularly. The devil goes around like a roaring lion looking for those that he can maul. But God is in full control and the devil has nothing on you as a believer in Christ. Each and every person has to leave this world through death but, the grave has no victory over us.

Why Don't You Want To Love?
Isaiah 58:1-14 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Do you attend a church because you've always gone to church? Has it become a tradition? God wants people to have a desire from you to love Him. Serving God is not just something that you do in a church. Do you feel or think that God should be pleased with your worship? We should show compassion to others through love. If you claim to worship inside a church but do not show that outside the church, what are you telling others? We should give up ourselves to others. If you see someone in need, would you help them? We all have the ability to care more than what we do. God did not call you to simply worship Him, He called you to love Him but to help others. Have you ever wondered why God doesn't bless you like you think He should? Stop and consider what you have done for Him. Have you done and given your all and best?

The Thief Called, Worry
Philippians 4:1-9 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The truth is, we all worry. We worry because we don't know how to fix it. Most all things in life, we can't control. Burdens can't take your joy unless you worry about them. Worrying creates doubt and fear. Worrying about the problem doesn't fix it. How to fix "worry" or capture the thief? Don't worry about all the things in the world, pray about it. The first thing is to pray correctly through supplication and thanksgiving. Supplication means to let God know what we need through caring. Asking, "please help me...". Giving thanks is a component of your faith. It means you know and believe that God can do it. Romans 8:28 You may not think that it will be what you think is right but, God has never made a mistake. The second thing about fixing worry is thinking right. One can worry themselves physically sick. The third thing is right living. You must live for God in order to control your worry. If one simply does those three things, right praying, right thinking and right living one can have the greatest want in all mankind. PEACE! You don't just do these three things when you're in trouble, it's a life. Isaiah 26:3
