Where Is Your Name Written?
Luke 10:17-20 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Now in I this scripture, the 70 men were given a certain power to do these things. None since then have been given this power. Now there are a certain faith that seems to think they can do these things but the doctrine always wins, they die. We are warned not to find our peace in things that are carnal, the healing, the miracles or even the good things that might come our way. It rains on the just just the same as the unjust. There should be an excitement when it comes to attending the house of God. One never knows what God has in store. There are four things that we should not have faith in. Super natural powers is the first one. Yes they are powerful and miraculous but they are but temporal. Baptism is also something that one should not have our full joy in. Baptism can not save a person but it's only a visual representation of being changed, saved. Church membership is not something that should not be rejoiced as being saved. A lot of folks want to join the church but offer nothing to the believers. Works is one thing that a lot of people but their stock in that will seemingly gain them access to Heaven. Gods Word is plain when it states that no one is good and your good works are as filthy rags. Many will claim they did things in Jesus name but they don't know Him. What to rejoice about. Is YOUR name written in the Lambs book of life? Being born again is a personal thing. A man written name will not get you into Heaven. A church membership book will burn up in the end. Therefore it's not of any importance. If your name is written in Heaven then someone up there had to write it and that person is God. Whatever is of God and whatever is written of God is forever.

Always Give Thanks
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (Part of the The Need For Christian Duties series).
We often find ourselves complaining instead of giving thanks. There's never a time where we shouldn't praise God. In our darkest hour we should praise God. It's certainly easy to thank God during the good times. No matter what you'll go thru some sort of trouble in your life and when it comes, praise God. We should always rejoice because God has us in His hand and will never let us go. God never said we would live a life of ease. He in fact said that when the trials and troubles come, He would be there...ALWAYS. There are things that we must go thru, difficult things. God knows what you're going thru. God said that whatever suffering you're going thru is for your benefit. Whether we understand what we are going thru, it's always good thru Christ.

Pray
1 Thessalonians 5:17 (Part of the The Need For Christian Duties series).
One way to rejoice more is to pray more. There was a need to pray back in biblical times and for today. The problem then was that people didn't pray like they should just as today's time, Luke 18:1. I Luke 18 we read of a parable about a woman that kept asking for help. In the end the woman was granted her request because the judge was tired of her asking. How much more does God love us than that of the judge? Do you expect and answer immediately from God when you pray? Do you expect your request to be answered the way you want it when you pray? Do you even pray, pray without ceasing?

Why pray? Matt 26:41, one prays better when there is trouble in their life. So why do we pray? We pray because we are weak. We don't have the answers.

When to pray? Now Daniel prayed morning, noon and night. If we are not careful that will be the mandate that we will place on our prayer time. We should always be praying and reaching to Him. Every time that it is possible, we should be praying.

What to pray? Prayer is no more than opening your heart and knowing whom you're speaking to. Did you know that God already knows why and what we are praying for or about? Recognize whom God is, it should always have praise to God. We need some bread, we must be honest, bread is what we depend on God for. Our breath is our bread. Our body that works by itself, God controls, is our bread. A man can not forgive you of your sins no matter whom the man is. When we pray we should be asking what we need from within our hearts.

How to pray? The best example of this is when Jesus was in the garden praying, Matt 26. Jesus was fervent and was also honest. God is not fooled by a big speech. We should be open with God, He's not surprised. If you've got an problem with someone then you've got to be honest because He will want you to take care of the problem. So you didn't like how God answered your prayer, be honest about it. Fervent means that it's one on one. You must find alone time with God.

Will you pray? Every time the doors are open to the church we are always asking one to pray? It's always an open invitation to pray. No one is holding you back from praying. He's not fooled by you avoiding to pray.

Rules of Gift Giving
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The gift of God is simply, John 3:16. He gave the unspeakable gift. Beginning from the last, everything comes from God. Not one person has anything unless it comes thru God first. We as humans are selfish creatures by nature. God wants to give you His undeserved love. Many holidays come and go and they revolve around giving, however we should be a giver everyday. If you're judging the gift by its size then you've missed the point. One doesn't give because of self, one gives because they are loved. We've been given the greatest gift, love, that it should cause one to give it back.

There should be a time when you've found yourself in want. Bills to pay, missing food on the table or even gas to fuel the car. During that time, God might come to you and ask you to give to someone else. Now money is not something that can be controlled and many of billionaires worry about it till they die.

One point to be a good giver is to give abundantly and not sparingly. Just as sowing seeds, one doesn't plant one seed expecting hundreds of plants.

Point two, give purposely. One should purpose in their heart to love God and to pray for the need or gift. God knows the need and therefore we should obey what He tells us to give.

The third point is to give freely. This doesn't mean to smile while you gift it. Without a grudge or necessity. If it bothers you to give then you're giving wrongly.

If how you give is based on how you feel at the moment then the devil will talk you out if it every time. God tries to teach His lesson on giving by your obedience. When God tells you to give, give without question. No matter how much one gives, one can NEVER out-give Gods giving. We give because if we sow it, we will reap it as long as it's done by the above three points. The second reason is because God loves a cheerful giver. Wouldn't we all want to please God? Now when the offering was being taken, God is always watching. He knows what's in your pocket, He knows what's in your heart and He knows what He told you. It's not about how much is put it but why it was put in. Our church does not tell you how much to give because an amount is not biblical in today's time. The Old Testament explain a tenth but the New Testament explains that it's based on what God tells you to give and what you're willing to give. If you're worried about giving then you're worried about the wrong thing. 2 Cor explains that always God will take care of all needs.

Where Is Your Faith? (Part 1)
Luke 8:22-25 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
They were going over the Word of God. His word is the final say. Do you believe that the Word of God is of God and should be kept. Not one church going person will say that the bible is not Gods word and yet most don't follow it as truth. The bible is one of the promises of God given to all. It's not a novel or history book but Gods word.

Where is your faith?

He has given you promises and yet when the storms come, you're not ready. Worry which is from Satan comes into our lives, we let it control us besides having the faith in the Word of God. Jesus no longer sleeps because He is in a new form. Always there, always waiting, always listening. How many times have you looked at the storm in your life and realized that you're in jeopardy? When your world turns upside down there will be times when Gods word will be the last thing on your mind. Just as in the boat with the disciples, Jesus wasn't worried because he was asleep try the terrible storm. Romans 8:28 God wasn't worried then and He's not worried now. God how's your finances, He knows where it comes from and knows where it going. But, just as a person sows, so shall they reap. If your foolish with your finances you shall reap foolishness.

Where's your faith?

You may say that you're a child of God and nothing bad will come your way. This is a lie from Satan. Satan tries everyone and more so to a Christian because he wants them to stumble to keep others from being saved. Trials will come and they will come more frequently for a Christian. During the storms in life one usually is more worried about the storm than they are with learning and the peace. Once one realizes that the storm can't be controlled by oneself and that God is in full control, peace will come. Nothing in this world that could ever come against us is covered in His word.

Where is your faith?

The reason one finds themselves in much jeopardy is because they don't study. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. How many open you bible when you're NOT in a church house? Oh yea of little faith... why such small faith, because one doesn't know what the truth says when a trial comes.

Where is your faith?

If your faith is in God, the Word, then it's unstoppable, unmovable. Satan can't touch you as long as you're one of Gods.
