The Economics of Grace
Matthew 16:24-27 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Thinking about profits. The rough definition of what a profit is, it's what left over after giving. A business can not survive without a profit. At the end of your life your profits will be examined. If you owned everything in the world, would it benefit you at death? Think about the things you trade for peace. It's hard to value a profit when you can't understand the cost up front. Your soul is so valuable that God sent His only son to be sacrificed for it. Did you know that when you travel to other countries, our American money means nothing to them? Just the same, when you die, what you owned here on earth means nothing to death, heaven and hell. When God comes to you and calls your name, He's asking you to be saved. He is offering you something that nothing else can give or offer to you. If you accept His offer He will give you "the world", peace, forgiveness, love, joy and ticket to heaven. There is a cost to accepting His offer. It will cost you everything that you treasure. The more you treasure, the harder you life will be until you put God first. So if a man were to gain or own the entire world and lose his soul, what did he profit?
Preached by Tommy Boring on February 15, 2015 (Sunday Morning).
A Bright Future
Revelation 19:1-9 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
It seems that with every turn of the world today that Christians are persecuted worse and worse. If we are saved we shall open our eyes after death and be in a place that will have no sadness, grief, tears, pain or death. We sometimes get stuck in today's sorrow and depression but hold tight till the end. Our bodies are currently sinful and we struggle with it on a daily basis here on earth. In heaven our bodies are made holy and then are worthy to enter into His throne room. Rev 22:1-21 God sent His angel to tell us what to expect in Heaven. Make sure that you're saved because there will be no second chances after Jesus comes back to get saved, it will be too late. Don't let the worlds sins get you down. Just keep your eyes on Jesus and what is in store for us that's saved. Stop worrying about what the world is doing, just do what God has told you to do. Serve the one that has control over life and death. Being a Christian should be a happy life. God gives us blessings that we don't even deserve. Be happy for those blessings.
Preached by Matthew Adams on November 5, 2014 (Wednesday).
One Mind And One Accord
Jeremiah 6:16 (Part of the 210th Original Tennessee Association of Primitive Baptist series).
Jesus knew that the world would need a redeemer. God has control over everything still to this day. The world is in the same shape as it was back when the flood took place. God always keeps His promises. The only promise that is left is His second coming. One of His hints of His second coming is that the works would be as it was prior to the days on Noah. We must be in agreement with God. We need to know the bible to make sure we are not mislead. If you don't go out and love them the. You can't expect them to come to church. If you knew that Christ was coming in the morning, we would grieve ourselves to death.
Preached by Dale Hunt on October 14, 2012 (Association Morning 2).
