Joy Stealers
Nehemiah 8:9-12 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There is nothing greater than when God speaks. Do you know what it's like to have God speak to you? Our birth right or ancestry does not give us the right for God to speak to us. We should all be broken, humble before God. The joy of the Lord is our strength. There are a lot of thing in this world that will steal your joy. Some are weak from the weight of sin, the burdens of life but you need to find your strength. How many times have we been stolen from to the point that it starts affecting our testimony? So you've never felt this powerful joy, then you must look at the condition of your soul. What produces joy? The word of God as it declares that we are more than conquerors thru Christ. The Bible is truth and can never be wrong. It's the living word of the Living God. We try all things trying to get some sort of help. Some folks don't even carry their bible and don't even read it. It's like being in a marching band but never practicing or bringing the instrument. Obedience is also a joy bringer. God will deliver you if you just do what He says to do, John 15:10-11. 1 Peter 1:8 Our faith in the Word is also a joy builder. Do people look at you and think that you're unhappy or depressed? Do you find yourself wanting to be depressed, unhappy, miserable or angry? So if you've gotten out of control and missed the first three, then you've got to repent. If you've lost the joy of your foundation then you've lived contrary to Gods word. How can you be happy and joyful when God doesn't hear you? Obey, believe, study and repent in order to have joy unspeakable.

Do You Have Hope?
2 Corinthians 5:1-2 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
If you're a Christian there is a day coming that all the burdens of life will come to an end. There will be no more death, sickness, aches or pains. The world is searching for a remedy to fix the sorrow of the earthly life. Would you know a heavenly built place if you seen it? It's builder is of God where no mans hands have ever touched it. The fact about our flesh is that it will dissolve back to the earth. To most Christians it's the struggles to the end that bothers and stresses. The end of a Christians earthy life is just the beginning of a life of eternity with the savior Jesus Christ. Many of persons have almost went to the edge of life but God spared their lives for His purpose. Others, God has called them out of this world. Do you have hope? Is your hope in this world or is it in the things to come? Do you have a house being prepared in heaven? Is there a dread when you think about death?
Preached by Tommy Boring on April 3, 2016 (Sunday Evening).
He Will Give You Rest
Matthew 11:28-30 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
It doesn't matter what the issue is, what the burden is or what the problem might be, God will give you rest. We are just as a child, rebellious, thinking we know what's best for our lives. But just as a loving parent teaches a child, God teaches and is patient with His children. He loves through our rebellious nature. If you are a child of God, He goes with you every step you take. Why would you choose to take Him to places that you would be ashamed of taking Him? God carries your burdens if you will allow Him to. There is no reason or excuse to carry your own burdens. It doesn't matter how many times you have to ask Him for help, He just wants you to trust in Him and ask Him. Just as a child asks their parents for help, the parents that loves will do whatever it takes to help their child because they simply love them.

Got Grace?
James 4:6 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Grace is only given to the humble. Pride will lead you to hell. Have you ever thought about what grace is? A perfect story of grace is the story of the prodigal son. A father gave his son a lot of money but the son wasted on frivolous things. The son finally came to his senses while eating the hogs slop. The sons plan was to ask for forgiveness and to be a simple servant for being disobedient. But the father had other plans for his son. The father had grace, shown grace and gave grace. Not only was the father happy his son returned but gave him the best he had, the family ring, a rob and the best calf for a prepared feast. Just as this father did for his son, Jesus Christ has done the same to each of us. He stands calling for his child to come home. With outstretched arms, begging for His children to return. But His children sit and wallow in the worlds slop and in their own pride.

What Happens When Hope is Gone?
Romans 8:18-28 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Is there a time when there is no hope? When you know what the outcome is and you know it looks grim, but you're still looking up. That's hope. There is never a time or a situation where there is no hope. There will be times when you'll feel bound hand and foot but if you've got Jesus, you've got hope. The devil wants to take away your joy. You might see a Christian down hearted but they won't stay that way long because Jesus is their joy and He will never leave them. For a Christian, even at death there is still hope. If you're a Christian you will suffer in your life here on earth. A Christians problem is when the world pulls us down with its fear, doubt and troubles, then our faith begins to waiver. Hope is fragile because the devil and the world pulls and at it and hope quickly slips through your fingers. When you faith gets low and you feel as if there is no hope. Get up! Move that obstacle out your way by studying His Word and remembering His promises. There are barriers in our lives that keep us from growing our faith and keeping our hope alive. We must push those barriers out of the way by staying in His Word. When a Christian dies, we will need no more hope because we will be with pure hope everlasting. For the unsaved, while their is hope that you could be saved, after death there will no more hope and death and torments will haunt you for eternity.
