Will You Believe In Jesus Christ
John 6:53-59 (Part of the Communion Services series).
Jesus was God in the flesh. Many don't want to accept the fact that Jesus is God in the flesh. They view Him as just a simple man. Jesus Christ is part of the third part of the Godhead. Unless you accept Jesus Christ as whom He is, you may have NO part of Him. All one has to do is just believe. The communion service is just a representation of the broken flesh and bitter blood of Jesus Christ. When one partakes of the bread and wine they are saying that they accept Christ as being the Son of God. The only restrictions that we as our church has on the communion is that one must be born again to partake of it. Jesus was born of a virgin, He walked sinless on earth and He was sacrificed for our sins. There has been NO other person that's done that. It's simple, one must believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He is the only way to Salvation.
Preached by Bruce Whitehead on June 3, 2018 (Sunday Evening).
Submit Yourself to God
James 4:7-8 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
It's hard to see submission without brokenness. Some want to be used but only partially. The requirement of being used is all or nothing. We should be ready at all times to be a willing vessel for a God. Submitting yourself to God requires a change. How many things hinder and hold you back from submitting yourself 100% to God? We want God to do these things for us but are unwilling to do what He's told us on submission. God should rule everything in your life. Unwilling, afraid, think you can't do... it's all because the doubt is stronger in your life that God is. You have not because you ask not. Obedience is better than sacrifice.
Preached by Tommy Boring on May 14, 2017 (Sunday Evening).
There's Life In the Water
1 Kings 18:35-39 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We need to get on fire for God. Mediocrity is death. We need to let go of our indifference and let God. Life is in the water. Elijah was bringing life back to the altar. There's nothing God did t take that He won't restore. When we sacrifice what separates us from God on the altar, life is given in return. There's life at the altar. God switches our sacrifice and surrender for restoration and life. There's no life anywhere but in God. God is the source of water and wastes nothing. He is the resource. The altar is where faith is proven. It's the place where things are real. There's water all over the altar. Everything you love most is in the altar and in all these things there is life. The most important thing you could have in you altar , it's what the drought stricken world doesn't have and you can have all the water you need everyday. Why won't you go to the altar? Because the hard part is the preparation for prayer. The willingness to surrender. We aren't waiting on God; He's waiting on us. You'll never be able to go to the altar of God and not leave unchanged. But we have to bring our best. We cannot have sin and expect God to accept our sacrifice.
Preached by Tommy Boring on October 2, 2016 (Sunday Evening).
The Hard Journey Home
Ruth 1:19-22 (Part of the Ruth 1 series).
Sometimes it's hard to go home. The flesh sometimes doesn't want to go back because of shame and hurt. The journey back home can't start until you turn back. The chastening of God is not pleasant but it's needed because He loves us. If you're saved and living outside of the will of God then you are living a dangerous lifestyle. God will not allow His children, the saved to live outside of His will for very long. Those that are living outside of the will of God should be viewed by the church (saved) as those that need love with compassion. Sin WILL take your life. We've all at some point thought we could do it on our own without Gods help. When the children of God are in trouble we should not punish them because it's Gods job to do so. The hard part of having to go back home is the repenting, apologizing for turning your back on God. Being broken is the first step in turning back to God. Repentance to God is the second fruits of going back home. Confession to those they have wronged would be the third step. One can't be fixed until they realize they are broken. Are you not tired of the bad stuff? You can't live in sin and expect God to bless you with the good stuff.
