It's About a Choice
Deuteronomy 30:15-20 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Many make Salvation a difficult thing. In the beginning God made Adam and Eve to have their own choice. There is nothing that you can do to separate you from the love of God. It's not difficult to make a decision, do you want life or death? God didn't make Adam or Eve love Him. He didn't make Moses to love Him, therefore He's not going to make you love Him either. You have a choice, He will not make you to be saved. The greatest of joys is to serve someone else. Have you made up your mind on who you will serve? One can't serve two gods, you will either love one and hate the other. No one is made to love God, it's a freedom that we all have whether we love Him. By default we are going to hell because we must choose God. It's an eternal choice that must be made once the invitation has been received because we don't know if we will take another breath. God wants you to choose Him because He loves you but in the end, it's completely up to you. Some keep going the wrong direction but expect different results. The table has been set full, the invitations have gone out, you're starving to death but, you just sit and watch other feast on the goodness of God. You can starve yourself to death. Have you made up your mind? Who are you going to serve? That simple choice will change you forever.
Preached by Tommy Boring on April 23, 2017 (Sunday Evening).
Promise of Adoption
Romans 4:13-25 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We as Christians should have the faith as Abraham. Without faith one will walk thru life as that of a drunk person stumbling about. Some still think that one only has to be baptized in order to go to heaven but that's not true. There is only one way to heaven and it's not thru your family, works, baptism or church membership. Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven and to forgive one of their sins. It would seem that God would only want to save those that are "sinless", those that haven't done horrible things. But God loves everyone no matter their sins, in fact, God loves to take the worst sinner around and convert them to do His work.
Preached by Steve Howard on November 2, 2016 (Wednesday).
Plenty More Where That Came From
1 Kings 17:1-16 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God loves us unconditionally however to blessed we must meet certain conditions. We must strive to be sinless, He will not bless over sin. We all come to a decision whether we will obey God or ignore Him.
Preached by Bruce Whitehead on November 18, 2015 (Wednesday).
Calling for a Response
Nehemiah 8:5-12 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Regardless if you're 9 or 90 years old, the Word of God can and will still touch you. When the Word of God is read, it should be reverenced. We should all respond properly to Gods Word. We should pray each time we take the bible in study or teaching. One can't make someone be reverent, reverence is learned. You wouldn't ignore your best friend if they called out your name so why ignore the one that saved your soul? Many churches and people worship with a form. Whether you are a child or an adult, you should be able to understand the Word of God. When one hears the signal or siren of a tornado warning, do they just ignore it or take action to be safe? When you hear the Word of God, do you ignore it? God warned all of the people in Noah's days of an impending flood. If Noah hadn't responded, where would you be? All the calling from God is, is come. When we come expectedly, listen attentively and respond properly, we shall leave joyfully.
Preached by Tommy Boring on April 12, 2015 (Sunday Evening).
What Does it Take to Worship?
Nehemiah 8:1-2 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Worship begins with self. A burden must take place before worship can begin. Anyone that has a hand, anyone that has a heart, do what God has called you to do. If you are a part of the body of Christ you should be shouting with joy. If God says it, then you can bank on it. If you have a grudge or anything that separates you from the brethren then you can not and will not have complete worship. In order to worship you must come expecting to worship. All you've got to do is ask God for more of Him. There are a lot of people that are simply satisfied with their salvation, but being satisfied is the problem with worship. Being saved should make you want more of Christ, not just some or a little.
Preached by Tommy Boring on April 8, 2015 (Wednesday).
