We Are All Zacchaeus’
Luke 19:1-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Jesus did not come to feed 1000 of people with fish, He did not come to make the blind to see, heal the lepers or raise the dead. He came to save the lost. He did those things to prove who He was and to show compassion. When you attend church it’s not to just have fellowship but to pray for the lost and to see them saved. Sunday school teachers study to help lead the lost to Christ. We see Zacchaeus and his story that it was a personal thing. Jesus called him out by name. Just as today, Jesus will call you by name inviting you to salvation. When you serve the Lord it’s a personal thing. The Lamb’s Book of Life doesn’t have the born again believers listed under one big group. Each person is listed by their name individually. We are all sinners, the difference is if Christ has called your name and you accepted Him as your savior. One can’t save themselves therefore one can’t keep their salvation. Salvation is given by Christ and He has promised He will never pull that away from the saved. Jesus knew Zacchaeus more than Zacchaeus knew himself. Luke 2:11, Christ knew why He came and He came because the world had no hope. The lost don’t come to church unless we the people invite them. They are not looking for Christ. Do what ever it takes to bring in the lost.

Who's Our Enemy?
Luke 22:31-32 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Part of winning a battle is understanding your enemy. When it comes to the word of God, one has to be willing to accept it. First and foremost, God knows our enemy. He knows what he’s doing and when he’s going to do it. We need to know the enemy in order to fight against the enemy. As we know about Job, he had a hedge built around him that God had placed to keep the enemy away. As a Christian, you have a God built hedge around you. Now you can play and tease with the devil and he will try his best to destroy you and if you let him, he will. In Genesis, we see that the devil was present. Satan is NOT a god but a created being. He is an angel and nothing more. He was created therefore he can be controlled by God. Now Lucifer himself is probably not messing with you. He is not a god and therefore can not be in multiple places at the same time, omnipresent. He also can not read your mind. Now just as God, he has many angels to “work” for him, with him. Satan is a fallen angel and he also took a bunch of angels with him. John 13:2 - Destroy The devil wants everyone dead. He can take ahold of a lost persons heart and cause them to do ungodly things only to leave them dead. 2 Cor 11:14 - Deceiver The devil can transform into a false being to fool others to think he is something that he is not. John 8:44 - Liar The devil is a liar. He is unable to speak the truth unless it’s riddled with lies. He is the father of lies. One could say they would never believe a lie from the devil. Have you ever been afraid? Fear is a lie from the devil. Simple yet effective. John 10:10 - Steal, Kill, and Destroy So can the devil destroy a believer? Only if God allows it. Satan is a destroyer and he certainly wants to destroy you. In our nation, opiate addiction is the highest killer. Luke 8:12 - Thief Satan also wants to steal Gods love from the lost. When the word of God is presented, satan will steal away the word if it’s not consumed. 2 Cor 4:4 - Blinder Think about it, we teach in schools that it took the world billions of years to be created. We evolved from monkeys or evolved from something. Satan has removed the Creator from our children’s learning. We are accept every lifestyle due to tolerance, love everyone, that what Jesus taught. Truth is, it’s a lie. 2 Cor 12:7 - Buffet Believers Now the devil constantly beats on the gate at the hedge and all you’ve got to do is open the door. We are constantly bombarded with Satan daily throughout our lives thru media and others. It’s a choice if we allow or let that in. Rev 20, Rev 20:10 - Destiny We see in the end Satan and his demons will all be destroyed. They will be tormented just the same as those unbelievers that rejected Christ, forever and ever for eternity. 1 John 3:8, Luke 11:23 Who’s side are you on? There is ONLY two sides. You’re either on Satans side or Gods side. Either your born again or lost. To the believers. Eph 4:26-27 Don’t give the devil any room to win or get in. You want problems in your life, let him in. James 4:7 Resist the devil and he will flee. Eph 6:11-18 We know we are gonna be in a battle with the devils, therefore go ahead and prepare yourselves.

Continuously In Prayer
2 Samuel 5:17-25 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
How many are simply satisfied with a single knock and give up? Do we not give-up too quickly? We should always pray and ask God about everything before we do it. How many of us act before we pray? We should always know that Gods knows our future and what's best, therefore we should always seek after His direction. God is a jealous god and demands no other idols before Him. A lot of times we assume what God will say and act on it before we ask. We know Gods nature and know that He is good but the one thing we do not know is His will. This is why we must pray and ask Him. With David and the battles between the Philistines the first was a true battle, a fight, but the second was simply to wait and watch. You'll never know what God wants unless you ask. With the prayer of Gideon he asked God to do two things and those things were answered. Two simple things that Gideon asked but when God proved Himself Gideon never doubted afterwards. With Gideon's battle God told him that he had too many people and sifted them down to 300 men and no swords. In the end, it took trumpets and lanterns to slay thousands of men. How did both of these men know what to do in order to win their battles? Prayer and obedience. Eph 6:18, there's things you want to see done but you've got to pray and obey. Just because it works for others and it's worked for you in the past doesn't mean that it's what God has planned for you to do. The affect to obeying God and being obedient to His word effects the rest of our future generations.

Yet, There Is Room
Luke 14:15-24 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There's an importance for us as Christians to be doing our part. Churches all across the world are inviting the lost in to be saved. But just as in biblical times, people are known to give excuses why they don't want to come. Salvation can't be obtained by your wanting, it's by invitation only. Do you feel separated from God? Do you feel as if you've been left out? God loves you and there is room at His table for you. Many feel as if it'll embarrass someone or themselves if they come to the house of God. Thinking about the story of Noah. God didn't give Noah the dimensions for the Ark to save the world because He knew that they wouldn't come. Clearly there was plenty of room for hundreds of people but only 8 were saved. Noah did his part warning the people and inviting them to be saved from the flood. Noah didn't shut the door of the ark, God did. The woman with an issue of blood knew that all she had to do was to just touch Him she'd be healed. There were hundreds of people there that day and many people were touching him. But Jesus knew right away when she touched Him. No matter what, press towards Him. There once was a man and his friends that needed healing but the crowd was too large. His friends knew what was needed and they climbed the building and tore off the roof to lower their friend down to Jesus. Jesus healed him and he walked out of the building. There is room for you. John the revelator seen things that he wrote about in revelation. He seen a number that no man could number when he looked into Heaven. The last thing he wrote about was that the spirit says, come. Even though in Heaven there is a number at that time that no man could number, God says there is still room for you. Just for you! Right before Jesus came into the world they were looking for a place for Him to be born. They struggled a place for Him. There was no room. The contrast is that He has a place just for you prepared. All you have to do is to accept His invitation. Once His table is full then there will be no more invitations sent.

Temptations
Luke 22:39-48 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Everyday there are temptations. No matter how holy one tries they are always tempted to do wrong to fall away. We walk thru agony here on earth but if you're saved you'll leave that all behind. We should all pray earnestly, fervently for our lost to be saved and for us to stay away from temptation. We all fall into worldly pleasures because none of us are perfect as Christ was.
