Be Like Gideon
1 Corinthians 1:18-31 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
People thought that thru their own wisdom they would rid themselves of Christ by crucifying Him. However, thru their foolishness they fulfilled the plan of salvation for all mankind. Romans 1:19 Everyone knows that there is a God. Our own timeframe is created upon a before Christ and after Christ. Due to the sacrifice of Christ every person has the opportunity to be saved. It's foolishness to many that one person years ago could die to save the future. Romans 1:26-32 It's not Gods will for anyone to perish but many will turn against God and will turn to themselves seeking after their own lusts. We commonly think that we are the only ones that are going thru something, no one understands what our battle feels like. But Christ himself was rejected and is still rejected today. We seek after things in this world that please us, love, drugs, alcohol, stuff, money. In the end these things will all be destroyed.
Preached by Steve Howard on February 5, 2017 (Sunday Evening).
Magnificent Truths and Wisdom of God
1 Corinthians 2:6-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Wisdom is mentioned in the bible seven different times. World still can not hear the wisdom of God. The wisdom of God can't be heard by those that are lost. Many have died for the wisdom of God. Only those that are born again know the wisdom of God is truth. Jesus Christ loves the sinner. How does one think that a sinner can be born again? To the lost a Christian is foolish. When the light comes on what is there that you can not see? The Jews are still confused and shrouded by Gods wisdom. One can't have a new without having an old. Within the Old Testament Jesus taught and prepared the people for His resurrection and the removal of the old law. In the New Testament Jesus gave Himself as a sacrifice for all sins creating the new law. The spirit can not be understood by the lost only by the spirit itself. God forgives of sin forever more and one can never be unsaved. Do you want wisdom? Ask for it!

The Ram Is In The Thicket
1 Corinthians 10:13 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The trials we go through are common but they seem personal when they affect our selves. But why do we go through them? First we need to understand temptation. Temptation is a test given from someone. We must ask ourselves if the test is from God or Satan. 1 Peter 1:1-9, at times it might feel as if the test is too hard. If it's a test of God then it's to grow you as a stronger Christian. In these test from God we can either pass or fail them. We can always run away and try to do it ourselves but when it's Gods test we can only run so far on our own. At times we like to blame the devil for tests that are of God. When God makes a promise He will keep it to the very end. God is always very purposeful in everything. Through tribulation we receive patience. The trial of your faith strips away the worldly trusts to point the focus all back upon God. He gives us our health, financial freedoms, etc. God will never test you with evil. The devil will test us with things that appeal to the lust of the flesh. God will not test you with another women to check your love for your wife. This means that for the most difficult battles you've went through God was behind them? Yes, because those are the toughest items to break through in your life. We usually don't have the answers to why He tests. We often don't have the answers as to when the test will begin or start. In the end, we will make it through because in the end the answer is because God brought me through.

What Makes a Believer?
1 Corinthians 13:1-13 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
When you think of a believer you think of faith because you must have faith to be born again. Faith is the things that are hoped for. The children of God have hope for the after life, hope for Gods promises, hope for the things we can't see. One can have hope in medication, programs, a persons advice, etc but those things are temporary. Put your hope in those things that are of God. If one loses their faith they also will lose their hope. Suicide does not deem a person lost, the bible does not say that. Suicide is simply where someone has had their faith destroyed and they've lost what hope they had. Satan wants everyone to lose their faith, to be depressed and destroyed. The third part of a Christian is love. Love that goes beyond the need. If an orphan asks for a toy, you give them a home, family, food, clothes and also toys. Gal 6:2 We are to love one another not because we love but because God loved us first. Since God is love one can not truly love until they have God in their heart. 1 John 4:7 So the question is, have you been born again? Is love the motivation of what you do?

The Increase
1 Corinthians 3:1-11 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God gives His Spirit and His cleaning power to your soul when you're saved. No one knows the day or the hour that Christ will come back but we still need to share Christ with others. Abraham went ready with the fire, wood, knife and sacrifice when God told him to go. It's not a Gods will that any should perish but all should come to forgiveness. The devil will get you into trouble and then leave you to suffer in that trouble. The world is always wanting more or the world. Are you in line for your increase? Are you ready for your increase? Are you carrying your fire, wood and knife? Are you preparing for the increase? Which is a greater witness to someone, a church parking lot partially full or running over?
Preached by Ricky Boring on September 28, 2014 (Sunday Evening).
