Part of the Miscellaneous series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
Only God is sovereign and only He knows our hearts. People usually think that everything goes to Heaven when it dies. Dogs, cats, loved ones and other living things. The truth is that only saved living souls will go to Heaven.
The children of Israel had proof of God, grapes that took two men to carry that they all ate from, water that flowed from a rock once struck by a stick, in the desert a cloud followed them to shade them, fire to guide them by night, food that fell from the sky and yet they did not believe. Still today when God performs miracle after miracle all around you and yet you still don't believe. The question is not about whether God exist but if He's the son of God. We acknowledge that God created the world that we live in because there is proof all around us. We live in His creation, we take the breath that He gives, we see birth after birth and yet we still want MORE proof that He Is God. It only took one negative report for the entire group of Israelites to doubt Gods work.
Each day, each second the adversary is lying to you trying to get you to doubt Gods existence. One can not believe the doubts, lies from the enemy and yet still believe in Christ. If you don't believe the bible simply look towards history, the walls of Jericho fell down. A great and fortified wall which fell by simply walking around it. 40 years the Israel people wondered around in a circle all on the wilderness until all the unbelievers died. Joshua and Caleb was a old man and was forced to wait 40 more years just because others wouldn't believe and yet once the time came they still believed. John 12:42-43 even then people believed in a god but didn't believe in God. You can say all day long that you know or believe in what God can and did do, but in the end, salvation is the only way to Him. Salvation is a confession in Jesus Christ and that He was risen from the grave.
Rom 10:8-10 what does the bible say?

23And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs. 24The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence. 25And they returned from searching of the land after forty days. 26And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land. 27And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. 28Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. 29The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. 30And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. 31But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. 32And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. 33And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. 14:1 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. 2And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! 3And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt? 4And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt. (KJV)
11And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them? (KJV)
