Promises of the Divine Natural (Part 2) (2 Peter 1:3-4)

Tommy BoringTommy Boring, December 6, 2015
Part of the 2 Peter 1 series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Man can promise things all day but they will always fall short of those promises. When God makes promises, He keeps them. God can not like, therefore His promises are true. When one becomes saved they are of a new creature because God moves into them. You can't receive God's gifts until you're saved. Being saved is not something that you can simply say. It's not about your good works that you might do for someone. Being saved is not about being a church membership. When one becomes saved they have officially claimed eternal life. If you're having a problem living for God you might want to check your "salvation". God will change you from what you once was to something completely the opposite. We that are saved should stop walking around depressed. God can't be stopped and if your saved He lives inside you forever along with His promises. John 3:16 Jesus is God, and God gave Himself for ALL that would receive Him. Divine is everlasting, eternal. Once you've being saved and taken on the Divine nature, you will live forever. Our flesh all has an expiration date. God may punish you or may shorten your life due to disobedience but your salvation will always be there. God said that no one has fell out of His hand (protection) therefore your salvation will not go away. If you believe that your salvation is waive ring then you do not believe that God keeps His promises. Being saved also means that you should love, no matter what. God is love and if He lives in you (saved) then you should love. We shouldn't worry about our bodies or the flesh. Man can't hurt us even though they could kill you. Your soul is much more important than the flesh.

2 Peter 1:3-4

3According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
