Can You Bear It? (1 Peter 5:6-11)

Bruce WhiteheadBruce Whitehead, May 6, 2015
Part of the Miscellaneous series, preached at a Wednesday service

The bible never said that God would never put anything on you that you couldn't bear. It is a lie from satan himself, where he twists it and changes it to something that isn't true. Jesus Christ was tempted when the devil twisted Gods own scripture. His grace is sufficient for ALL. There are many things that will happen in our lives that we will never understand. Do you realize that Jesus could no longer carry is own cross? No other religion can claim what Christians can, we serve a living God. When we get to the point to where we can't carry our burdens, we need to ask for help from God. At times, we want God to take our problems from us but we end up picking them back up.

1 Peter 5:6-11

6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (KJV)
