Caught Unprepared (Acts 1:6-11)

Tommy BoringTommy Boring, January 12, 2014
Part of the Miscellaneous series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Jesus is coming back. Nothing will hinder Him from returning. 2 Peter 3:3-4 Some will make fun of and say He isn't coming. According to the bible, everything has been fulfilled and at any moment He could return. God will not destroy earth with water, He will destroy it with fire. God has promised that He will return. Just because one doesn't believe that God is real or coming back doesn't make it untrue. 2 Peter 3:8-10 We as humans have set time, God doesn't have a timeline. Time doesn't mean anything to God, He is the alpha and omega the beginning and the end. God hasn't come back because He is long suffering to us. When God takes His children home, it's not the end. There will be seven years of evil hell on earth. If you think that you'll wait till after God comes back you may die before then. With you hearing this or reading it, you are refusing Gods drawing and rebelling Gods calling right now. Right now, we live in a time of Grace that is for every single person. If you don't believe in God now you will believe when He comes back but it will be too late because His grace will be pulled away. God will come when you are least expecting it. 1 Thessalonians 5:8 This time that we live in now is wicked but God is in full control. When God comes back today you will be frozen in your salvation. Either He will find you saved or He will find you lost. If you are alive and lost when God comes back, you will witness the greatest phenomenon that has ever been seen. In a flash you will see all of those that are saved be changed and leave this world. There will be a day that EVERY knee will bow and EVERY tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. The question is, are you ready to go? Revelation 22:12-13

Acts 1:6-11

6When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
