Hypocrisy, covenant breaking, swearing and cursing. By words that are used freely are often taking Gods name in vain. The penalty to taking Gods name in vain; He will not hold you guiltless and will hold you accountable.

About Tommy Boring: Born in Vero Beach, Florida, Tommy moved to Blount county, Tennessee in 1975 where his family holds deep roots. The oldest of three children, Tommy attended the University of Tennessee and graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration and a Marketing major.
Tommy and his wife Teresa were married at New Providence Primitive Baptist Church June of 1985. His first full-time church ministry was at Meadow Branch Primitive Baptist Church where he served as their pastor for 2 years and 9 months. Tommy and Teresa have 3 sons; Christopher, Justin and Blake.
In October of 1991 Tommy was called as pastor of Edgewood Primitive Baptist Church and stayed until October of 2002 fulfilling God’s call for Edgewood.
Since January 2003, he has been the pastor of NPPBC. His two oldest children are married and live in the Maryville area.

Exodus 20:7

7Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. (KJV)

Matthew 15:7-9

7Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (KJV)

James 1:26

26If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. (KJV)

James 5:12

12But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation. (KJV)

Matthew 5:33-37

33Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: 34But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: 35Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. 36Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. 37But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
