2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
|Reconciliation is what God came to do. There is but one thing that separates God from us and that's sin. We have offended God with our actions, rebellion and our words. It happened in the Garden of Eden where we know that man would sin and break the fellowship with God. People think they have that fellowship by their life being good but that is a lie from the devil. The meaning of reconciliation is the filling the gap between God and man. God took the first step in fixing the gap, not man. There is nothing that God can't reconcile. In most all cases when someone is saved, they are not looking for God, in fact God came looking for them.
There is often a mediator during a reconciliation. 1 Tim 2:5-6, Act 4:12 There had to be someone to stand your case. Christ being the mediator stands between your sin and God and claims your case into salvation. There is a method to the mediation as well and that's the taking of the sin thru death, a sacrifice. Once the sin took place in the Garden of Eden, man never walked with God again until the mediator came. Once the mediator came then we now are able to walk with God. God can't look upon sin but how does He look upon a saved sinner? He looks thru the blood of His son Jesus Christ.
Two goats were taken as a sacrifice. One was to be used as a scapegoat and was to have the sin cast upon it and released. The other was to be sacrificed because blood must be shed.
We don't deserve to be saved because we are full of sin. But not only is there a method but there is also a ministry to being reconciled. The ministry is not only for the preachers but to ALL of those that have been reconciled, saved. A saved persons testimony is the greatest ministry there is. It's a responsibility that all that's been saved has and it's the great commission. To go out into the world and tell them about Jesus Christ no matter where they are.
The only thing that keeps you from God is your unbelief. Most feel that God could never love a person like themselves. But God came to them, they didn't go looking for God therefore He comes because He loves them.

Are You Trying To Please God?
2 Corinthians 5:8-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God is watching and He cares how you walk, talk, dress and act. We know that God can be pleased by our doings but just as He can be pleased He can also be displeased. He co trolls everything in our lives including our breath. It should be our top priority to please God with everything we do. Can you say that you've got the promise of God that you've been saved? Just because you've been promised a heavenly rest doesn't mean you'll have pain to go thru down here. While we are here we should labor and labor hard for God. God has given us that are saved blessings in order to bring forth a harvest. The only thing you have to give is what God gave you. In the end of time there will be a judgement of the good and bad. But there is a judgement for the lost, the wicked, the dead that the saved will not be apart of. The judgement for the children of God requires a reward ceremony for the good things we had done for God while here. Your works whether good or bad will not keep you out of heaven because your salvation is the only way into heaven and can not be taken away. God is not confused with whether you're lost or saved and has trusted you with His talents. What have you done with them?

Dwelling In the Tabernacle
2 Corinthians 5:1-6 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit if you've been saved. There is but only one purpose for this body for Christ. It is for Him to dwell to reach others thru the saved. Back in biblical times people had to travel from afar just to worship at the tabernacle. When God dwells in the tabernacle of our soul then don't have to travel at all. What would it be like if you had to get to the church in order to talk to God. What would happen if the doors were locked? Being with others that are worshiping Christ is as close to Heaven as we can get without death. The older one gets the more evident it is that you grow with Christ and the soul groans to be in His presence.

Do You Have Hope?
2 Corinthians 5:1-2 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
If you're a Christian there is a day coming that all the burdens of life will come to an end. There will be no more death, sickness, aches or pains. The world is searching for a remedy to fix the sorrow of the earthly life. Would you know a heavenly built place if you seen it? It's builder is of God where no mans hands have ever touched it. The fact about our flesh is that it will dissolve back to the earth. To most Christians it's the struggles to the end that bothers and stresses. The end of a Christians earthy life is just the beginning of a life of eternity with the savior Jesus Christ. Many of persons have almost went to the edge of life but God spared their lives for His purpose. Others, God has called them out of this world. Do you have hope? Is your hope in this world or is it in the things to come? Do you have a house being prepared in heaven? Is there a dread when you think about death?

Ministry of Reconciliation
2 Corinthians 5:11-18 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The only way to be reconciled is Jesus to sacrifice Himself and for us to accept Him as our savior. Those that live outside of Christ are the enemies. We have the ability to look out amongst our neighbors and have compassion and to love those that are not of God. How can we not care or forgive if we ourselves have been cared for and forgiven? Many things divide us that shouldn't. The problem is not their addictions or sins, it's the fact that the devil has ahold of them thru his stronghold. Christ didn't die for some or a few, He died for ALL that would believe on Him. Living in the ministry of reconciliation means we live in repentance and the care of those that are lost. How many times do we not say anything to those that pass us that are lost? How many times do we allow the devil to control our sharing of Christ? God's love should compel you to put your life on the line to share with others about Christ. To those that hate you, say hurtful things about you, keep in mind that Christ loves them. God's given you the engine and the fuel. Get out of park or reverse and put it into drive and go.
