Let Your Heart Be Broken
1 Samuel 4:1-12 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
People today want to put God in their own little box creating their own religion. Some want God to do what they want Him to do. God doesn't work this way as He works in His own accord. Everyone will go thru some sort of sorrow during their life. We shouldn't question Gods works or will. More and more people are turning away from God each and everyday. We must be careful to not let those people to question Gods will and who He is. We as Christians must be strong, study His word to know the differences between the devil and God. We must understand and that God doesn't need us in order to do His will. Therefore once we get ourselves out of His way, His will is done in perfection. One can't win an argument with God, it will always be Gods way. Grief can quickly turn into anger. One must break under God or anger will consume you. Brokenness leads to surrendering and once you've surrendered to Gods will then He will give you great peace. We shouldn't let one person to hold us back from worshipping God. How can you love God if you can't love your fellow man?
Preached by Taylor Walker on February 7, 2018 (Wednesday).
Jesus can Not be hidden
Matthew 5:13-16 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
What makes your children yours? Is it the time that you spend with them that makes them yours? Is it the name, last name? Parents gave birth to them and you may not have all the time with them that you'd like. What makes you a child of God? Is it the amount of hours that you spend in His present? Was the thief on the cross next to Jesus with Him long? Why are you here? It's not the amount of praise that you give. It's not about the work that you do. We see and hear all kinds of people that say they love God but they can't even follow His commandments or don't even know them. So, it doesn't matter how loud you scream, I love Jesus. If you are truly a child of God, you can NOT hide it. You'll have opportunities to share Jesus to people that don't want their light turned on. A Christian should have an easier time standing up in front of other Christians. If you can't stand up for Jesus in front of other Christians, what makes you think it would be easier in front of the world. Why hide Jesus? Hosea 4:1-6 We are to teach others of Gods love.
Preached by Taylor Walker on April 26, 2015 (Sunday Evening).
Don't Be Discouraged
1 Samuel 8:1-22 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
At times it's easy to want what others have. Jesus gives us exactly what we need and when we need it. Politicians will usually get to a point to where they only tickle your ears. Anything that we on our own, will fail without Christ. If your soul is saved, then that's all you need. It's easy to give your time and money to the things that matter the most but, when it comes to Christ it's hard to give. We are usually backwards in our worship. We find ourselves cheering for a sports team or a political party, but in the church house or in our salvation, we take the silent road. Don't let the physical things guide your life.
Preached by Taylor Walker on October 17, 2012 (Wednesday).
Step Out!
Luke 18:18-23 (Part of the 210th Original Tennessee Association of Primitive Baptist series).
We all have a different community to minister to. We've sat comfortable and have stopped working for Christ. If we are not careful we measure using our standards instead of Gods. Don't wait for someone else to do it. When you enter the church you committed to that church to help them.
Preached by Taylor Walker on October 12, 2012 (Association Evening 1).
