The Call To Prayer; Having A Blank Check
Jeremiah 33:3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Now if God is going to command us to pray then He will answer us. He will do His part. We need to be reminded by God. How do we know that God will answer our prayer? One, because He said He would. Now we like to pick and choose what we want from the Bible. But the Bible plainly states that He answers prayer. Number two, the nature of God, He is love. Now consider the nature of your prayer. When we meet certain conditions and God is love and mercy, would He not answer us? Now if God heard your prayer when you were a sinner asking for salvation, how much more would He hear you if your one of His, saved? Can God fail? Can God lie? Third, thinking about the times that He’s already answered the prayers. He has proven Himself faithful over and over time and again. Now God doesn’t go against His will. Everything that He answers it’s always for our better good. Now the answers may not be what we think it should have been. At times He may want us to wait some and grow patience. God is saying that anything is possible but it’s not our job to fill in the blank check. We must be careful with what we ask God. Don’t limit God on what we ask. He goes far and above our understandings so we shouldn’t limit Him. Romans 8:28; if you’re born again then all things work towards you in the good. Now it may not look good at the time but we don’t know what’s best, only God does. God also does things that we can’t comprehend. At this moment our country seems to be falling apart at its seams. How many of us know what to do, how to fix it? Only God knows how to turn it around, we don’t. God is all knowing and always goes further than what we’ve asked. Prayer produces truth. Truth comes thru prayer. How many times have you read your bible and not gotten anything out of it? Try praying before you dig into His word and ask Him to feed you. True prayer grows us spiritually deeper to God. Jesus prayed all night on the mount because He needed to pick twelve disciples. Prayer delivers deliverance. Great deliverance often requires great prayer. Prayer also causes great service. We have got to pray in order to know what we need to do. It’s not the preachers job to bare your burden. He is more than happy to help pray for something but it’s your job as well. To be a great servant requires frequent prayer. If you’re born again then this means that you prayed for Him to save you. We must commit ourselves to prayer. Romans 8:32

Continuously In Prayer
2 Samuel 5:17-25 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
How many are simply satisfied with a single knock and give up? Do we not give-up too quickly? We should always pray and ask God about everything before we do it. How many of us act before we pray? We should always know that Gods knows our future and what's best, therefore we should always seek after His direction. God is a jealous god and demands no other idols before Him. A lot of times we assume what God will say and act on it before we ask. We know Gods nature and know that He is good but the one thing we do not know is His will. This is why we must pray and ask Him. With David and the battles between the Philistines the first was a true battle, a fight, but the second was simply to wait and watch. You'll never know what God wants unless you ask. With the prayer of Gideon he asked God to do two things and those things were answered. Two simple things that Gideon asked but when God proved Himself Gideon never doubted afterwards. With Gideon's battle God told him that he had too many people and sifted them down to 300 men and no swords. In the end, it took trumpets and lanterns to slay thousands of men. How did both of these men know what to do in order to win their battles? Prayer and obedience. Eph 6:18, there's things you want to see done but you've got to pray and obey. Just because it works for others and it's worked for you in the past doesn't mean that it's what God has planned for you to do. The affect to obeying God and being obedient to His word effects the rest of our future generations.

Our Lifeline, Prayer
Daniel 6:1-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
While examining yourself, how often do you pray to God? Churches often have a revival once or twice a year but, while these revivals are good they do not last. We should have an internal revival daily within ourselves. Our human flesh does not want to humble itself to God. Most of the times we find ourselves on top of the mountain and not praying. We all need God on the mountain tops the same as in the valleys. How do you help people see the need they need? It's hard enough to see it in ourselves. Often in our lives the things around us are brought upon by disasters that happen around us. Most Wednesday night services were started because of the wars our country were in to pray for our loved ones and the countries safety. What's to be expected if we fully give ourselves to prayer? You may not be able to do a lot of things but the one thing that each and every person can do is pray. Do you truly care for the people around you? We must be honest when it comes to the works that we should be doing. We often say, "that's not my job", "they're not my family", etc. There have been great revivals in history. Simple men standing and proclaiming God to hundreds if not millions of lost and saved alike. Great revivals are not dictated on the time they were because great revivals have been going on since biblical times.

Through The Eyes Of A Blind Man
John 9:1-41 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There are many that find that the only way to Heaven is Jesus. Many of cults and religions find it offensive that there is but only one way. Now the story of the blind man has several points but we will focus on just two. The church didn't know this blind man that lived in their own community. The first thing they did was to challenge who Jesus was saying the He wasn't of God. Jesus Christ was God incarnate. There are religions out there today that claim that Jesus was just a man as you and I. The second statement was that Jesus Christ was a sinner because He did this act on a sabbath day. The blind man could see who Jesus Christ is but the church could not. The blind man asked the church to prove themselves in Moses' law where a person received their sight. There was only one person that could heal a person that was born blind and that was Jesus Christ, God. There is only one prayer that God will hear from a sinner and is the prayer of forgiveness of their sins to be saved. A lot of sinners pray but they waste their time and breath because God will not hear them because they are not His. Christ was sinless and on the cross He took upon all the sins of the world become a sacrifice for us all that would be live in on Him.

Yet, There Is Room
Luke 14:15-24 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There's an importance for us as Christians to be doing our part. Churches all across the world are inviting the lost in to be saved. But just as in biblical times, people are known to give excuses why they don't want to come. Salvation can't be obtained by your wanting, it's by invitation only. Do you feel separated from God? Do you feel as if you've been left out? God loves you and there is room at His table for you. Many feel as if it'll embarrass someone or themselves if they come to the house of God. Thinking about the story of Noah. God didn't give Noah the dimensions for the Ark to save the world because He knew that they wouldn't come. Clearly there was plenty of room for hundreds of people but only 8 were saved. Noah did his part warning the people and inviting them to be saved from the flood. Noah didn't shut the door of the ark, God did. The woman with an issue of blood knew that all she had to do was to just touch Him she'd be healed. There were hundreds of people there that day and many people were touching him. But Jesus knew right away when she touched Him. No matter what, press towards Him. There once was a man and his friends that needed healing but the crowd was too large. His friends knew what was needed and they climbed the building and tore off the roof to lower their friend down to Jesus. Jesus healed him and he walked out of the building. There is room for you. John the revelator seen things that he wrote about in revelation. He seen a number that no man could number when he looked into Heaven. The last thing he wrote about was that the spirit says, come. Even though in Heaven there is a number at that time that no man could number, God says there is still room for you. Just for you! Right before Jesus came into the world they were looking for a place for Him to be born. They struggled a place for Him. There was no room. The contrast is that He has a place just for you prepared. All you have to do is to accept His invitation. Once His table is full then there will be no more invitations sent.
