Weak Prayers
Jeremiah 32:26-27 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
It’s difficult to grasp that God has no boundaries or limit as we know it. Mat 19:26; Mark 10:27 If it’s something that you can do then why are you not doing it? God does the impossible. God does things that are unexplainable to man. We should be convicted that we don’t pray to God like He’s a BIG god. We define God as not being able to do those big things. Don’t we usually have a testimony that only God can do. God raised people from the dead, in fact He rose Himself from the dead. In the Bible there are many examples to prove God as being the extraordinary. The first thing is that you must believe the Word of God. Noah was told to build an ark when it had never rained before. God also told him that it was going to flood and destroy all living things. Noah and his house was saved because he believed God. Moses experienced God as a burning bush. God told him to be still as He rolled back the sea to dry ground for them to be saved. Moses was able to see manna everyday and meat that just fell to the ground. Moses seen water that poured from a rock when he struck it with a stick. Moses was able to see God’s hinder parts and he was changed and had a glow that no others could look upon Moses. David stood in front of a giant and killed him with a small stone. Elijah prayed to God and God showed up in a huge fire that burnt everything including the water. The disciples seen Jesus do many miracles. Spit a mud to make someone see. Deaf and dumb and made able to speak and hear by a simple touch. If we are saved then we serve a God that is able to do anything. How do you pray to Him though. God told us to not give anything thought to tomorrows things. He feeds to birds, yet we pray for our foods for tomorrow. God has already promised us those things. As long as you pray about your food and your clothes and your bills, then you’ve begun to pray about selfish things because He’s already promised those things. Now if you find yourself in a life changing event then we often find ourselves praying for ourselves. Nothing wrong with that! Some attributes of God. 1. God never changes! He is the same yesterday, today and forever. 2. God can not lie. 3. God is no respect of persons. What He did for Moses He will do for you. Why? Because He doesn’t love Moses any more than He loves you.

The Call To Prayer; Having A Blank Check
Jeremiah 33:3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Now if God is going to command us to pray then He will answer us. He will do His part. We need to be reminded by God. How do we know that God will answer our prayer? One, because He said He would. Now we like to pick and choose what we want from the Bible. But the Bible plainly states that He answers prayer. Number two, the nature of God, He is love. Now consider the nature of your prayer. When we meet certain conditions and God is love and mercy, would He not answer us? Now if God heard your prayer when you were a sinner asking for salvation, how much more would He hear you if your one of His, saved? Can God fail? Can God lie? Third, thinking about the times that He’s already answered the prayers. He has proven Himself faithful over and over time and again. Now God doesn’t go against His will. Everything that He answers it’s always for our better good. Now the answers may not be what we think it should have been. At times He may want us to wait some and grow patience. God is saying that anything is possible but it’s not our job to fill in the blank check. We must be careful with what we ask God. Don’t limit God on what we ask. He goes far and above our understandings so we shouldn’t limit Him. Romans 8:28; if you’re born again then all things work towards you in the good. Now it may not look good at the time but we don’t know what’s best, only God does. God also does things that we can’t comprehend. At this moment our country seems to be falling apart at its seams. How many of us know what to do, how to fix it? Only God knows how to turn it around, we don’t. God is all knowing and always goes further than what we’ve asked. Prayer produces truth. Truth comes thru prayer. How many times have you read your bible and not gotten anything out of it? Try praying before you dig into His word and ask Him to feed you. True prayer grows us spiritually deeper to God. Jesus prayed all night on the mount because He needed to pick twelve disciples. Prayer delivers deliverance. Great deliverance often requires great prayer. Prayer also causes great service. We have got to pray in order to know what we need to do. It’s not the preachers job to bare your burden. He is more than happy to help pray for something but it’s your job as well. To be a great servant requires frequent prayer. If you’re born again then this means that you prayed for Him to save you. We must commit ourselves to prayer. Romans 8:32

The Call To Prayer; Brush Your Teeth
Jeremiah 33:1-3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Often times we are better prayers when trouble comes around. Why does God have to command us to pray? Because left to our own demise we would never talk to Him. If we’re honest we would admit that if God didn’t command us to pray then we wouldn’t. Have you ever forgotten to eat, sleep, go to work, bathe, brush your teeth? However, how many of us have given that excuse when it comes to prayer, “I forgot to pray”. So why does He command us, because we would surely forget. There are never an excuse when it comes to talking/praying to God. Do you realize that we entertain ourselves instead of praying to God? What if God removed the things that kept us from praying? How many times a day does the flesh win over prayer? Do we honestly think that God has no idea what our lives consist of? He knows we have jobs, families, etc, but do no be deceived, He also knows when we make an excuse to not pray. Remember when our parents constantly told us to brush our teeth? Hopefully at some point it became a habit, a lifestyle. Just the same should prayer become in our lives for the rest of our lives. It’s not up to leaders within the church to be the only ones that pray. When you’ve been a command what are we to do? Obey! When we live a life without prayer we are living in a mess. Have you ever prayed and felt as if God didn’t answer you? This is because you’re living in sin. Three points of why prayers didn’t go anywhere. The first thing is sin. The only thing God is listening for if you’re living in sin is, “forgive me God”. He will not bless over disobedience. The second reason is that it’s not His will. When we pray and ask things that are not within His will then God will not answer us. Just because we want something doesn’t mean that we get it. The third is unbelief. We should pray and believe that He is God. If we doubt that He can’t do it or is not God over all then He will not hear from us. There should be times in our life when it because intimate between us and God. Nothing else during that time should matter.

Cold Hearts and Hardened Souls
Jeremiah 23:29 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The Word of God is a fire that burns within. It is like a hammer that breaks the rocks the hardness of the hearts. If one lets it, it will set you on fire for God. If the Word of God doesn't move you then you need to examine your Christian life. Not only does the Word burn and bring them together but it's like a hammer breaking the hardness of the heart, softens it. How can one be saved and not enjoy the Word of God? The Word of God saves us and keeps us. Do you believe the Word of God? The fire of God will and should set your heart on fire. It should change you, move you and cause you to work for Him.
