Having A Heavenly Vision
Acts 26:19-29 (Part of the Revival 2019 series).
No matter who you are or what you’ve done, you’ll need a heavenly vision from God. It’s not what you’ve done or been thru but about what Jesus Christ did on the cross. You must be a willing vessel to have that Heavenly Vision. Each and every saved person has had their own personal Heavenly Vision. God has to come to you first for you to be saved, this is the Heavenly Vision. When God comes searching and calls out for you to be saved, this is your age of accountability.
Preached by Cameron Crisp on September 14, 2019 (Revival).
We Do It Because Of Jesus Christ
Acts 4:1-13 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
If you’re doing something for any other reason than Jesus Christ then you’re wasting your time and doing it for naught. It’s the love of Christ that brings growth and power. The name of Jesus is still holy and shouldn’t be used as a by word or curse word. Your prayers should be done in Jesus name. When one serves it should be done in Jesus name. The Bible shouldn’t be watered down. It’s Jesus from front to back, it’s ALL about Him. Not only is the prayers and works are to be done in Jesus but our worship should be as well. One can’t worship God and not Jesus. God said that in order to worship Him you will have to worship Him thru Jesus. One might find this odd that someone could worship one god on Sunday and a different one on Monday. This type of activity occurs all the time. If one is not worshipping Jesus Christ then one is worshipping another god. When you’re at your lowest, call out to Jesus. When you’re at your highest, call out to Jesus.
Preached by Tommy Boring on July 14, 2019 (Sunday Evening).
God Uses Volunteers
Acts 4:8-13 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God Uses Volunteers Did you know that Peter and John were not professionals? We should be thrilled to be able to ring the bell of the church house. God didn’t call professionals into His ministries. Now one might be able to play football better then anyone else but God may not use you for that. God picked many men that were fishermen. Now what we do know is that these fishermen were not professional at fishing. We see this several times as Jesus had to tell them how to catch the fish and even asked them if they had any meat, to which they did not. God uses volunteers. In many places in the Bible we read that Jesus asked folks to follow Him. They then would rip what they were doing and volunteered to follow Him. If you’ve been born again then there was a day that God asked you to volunteer for Him and follow Him. Let’s think about how He found you and the others. We He found them and you, there was nothing to be found, you had nothing. God enjoys taking nothing and making something of it. All that God is asking for is a willing vessel. How many of you are committed to something that you can’t do? Are you aware that if God leaves you then you won’t be able to do anything? The ground around the cross is level. No one is any better than the next one. Are you willing to do what you can’t do?
Preached by Tommy Boring on July 7, 2019 (Sunday Morning).
The Automatics Of Salvation
Acts 2:38-42 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God didn’t make one repent when they became saved. It was a choice made by one once Jesus came calling. There are several things that come automatically with salvation. Forgiveness of sins is first and foremost once salvation takes place. The sins are cast just as far as the east is from the west and forever to be forgotten. We also are given the Holy Ghost to speak for us when we are unable to speak. It guides us and leads us thru this thing called life. Once you become saved you’re given all He’s got. There were many promises that were also given and the devil can’t take any of them away. Those promises not only are given to you BUT also to your children! A lot of folks like to say that if you’re saved then your household are saved. That statement is incorrect, however, if your saved then it gives them a better opportunity to be saved. Your household will have to come to salvation just the same as you did, thru Jesus Christ. There is also a desire to continue steadfastly in doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread, & prayer. If you’re lost you will not want to be in unity with the Word of God. Being saved means you just can’t get enough of Jesus. You’ll want to gospel of Jesus Christ. It will become the most beautiful thing to your soul. If a person despises the Word of God then they are likely lost. There is also a desire to fellowship with other believers. You would find the daily not only in the temples but in each other’s homes. They were focusing on others thru love versus loving themselves. Regardless of your temperament and whether you like being with other people or not, does not matter when it comes to being saved. There is something that trumps your temperament causes one to want to be with other believers. Unity thru love is part of fellowship. One can’t love their brother if they don’t love Christ. The breaking of bread is meaning obedience. Once one is saved the first thing they ask is if they can be baptized. Being a part of the Lords supper comes as an excitement to the saved. If you’ve got to be compelled to pray to the master then you’ve missed the mark somehow. Any time that you’ve become indifferent with God, then you’ve become backslid. Praying to God doesn’t work until you’ve asked for forgiveness of that thing that’s put a divider between you and Him. Preachers have preach thousands of messages on prayer BUT it should be automatic with the saved. All one has to do to get to God is to humble themselves. It should be that every time someone says, “let’s pray”, it excites you. If your intermission is during prayer time, then you’re missing the mark. Not only are you breaking the biblical doctrine, but you’re also breaking the fellowship of believers, and the obedience to God. Devotion to biblical doctrine, service with fellowship, obedience to God, and prayer are the basics that are set forth for the church that come automatically to the saved.
Preached by Tommy Boring on June 30, 2019 (Sunday Evening).
A Warning Of Holiness
Acts 5:1-11 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
People are not perfect. Thus, within the church there are those that say they are saved but yet they are horribly lost. The church today is still under attack from inside and outside of the church. God can judge of sin instantly. God is a very merciful god. Many of times we should have been taken home because we deserved it. Once we are born we are born into a relationship with our flesh. Once a saved person dies that flesh will be left behind. The flesh has a desire to constantly work against the Spirit Of God. In this story we see that their were a couple that went out to deceive the church by lying. God was about to prove to the church that He is all powerful and He will not tolerate foolish sin. Sin will break your fellowship with Him, it destroys the church and all it touches. God has the power to do whatever He wants whenever He wants to, and yet we continue to tempt Him during our lives. One can’t pull the wool over Gods eyes. He knows everything! Every time you allow the flesh to win, you allow sin into your life. God should rule over your flesh. Sin is sin no matter what it’s called or categorized. The punishment for sin is death. God can stop the sin instantly by taking care of it and He it just to do so. So do people die because they’ve sinned? Sure, but no one knows that but God. One commandment that was given by God that states that if one honors their parents they would live long. Other than that, God places a line that no person will cross regardless of a sin or just life in general. We should have a certain fear of God. God holds the very breath in His hand and we should fear that. God is just and He is the creator of each and everything. We should never start playing a game with the creator because we have nothing to bargain with. God chastens His children. He knows exactly what it takes to get our attention when we’ve begun to stray away from Him. As a Christian is should bother us if we do not please God. Some people are so stubborn that God has to chasten us to the point of putting them in a hospital bed before they realize they need to submit to Him. 1 Cor 3:9-15 God is not deceived and He knows exactly what you think, live, say and do and yet you still go against Him. 1 Cor 3:16-17 If your a Christian you should know already that God wants you to be in His church and to be holy. So if a Christian goes against God when He’s trying to build up His church, your life as you know it will be destroyed. He does not have to tolerate, love, or care for you and yet He does thru grace and mercy. Make no mistake that He never has to and can rightly judge any and all however He chooses.
