Death, It's Coming
1 Corinthians 15:51-58 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There is a day that the corruptible and mortal will become incorruptible and immortal. One can not deny that death is real. We will all die at some point or another. Death is an adversary that can not be avoided. No power here on this earth is capable of stopping death. Death will catch us all. We should all live like today is your last day and do Gods work like it's your last, having a sincere fear of being judged. The death of the wicked, the lost, have sin and no remedy for it and it is a sting an uncomfortable feeling. A saved person has had their sins forgiven by God and therefore the sting of death has been removed. So what sin is the sin that can't be forgiven of? It's the sin of rejecting Jesus Christ as your personal savior. If you die without accepting Jesus Christ as your savior that sin will keep you out of Heaven. Your salvation is not based of you or a priest, it's based on accepting Jesus Christ as your savior.
Preached by Tommy Boring on March 22, 2017 (Wednesday).
Be Like Gideon
1 Corinthians 1:18-31 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
People thought that thru their own wisdom they would rid themselves of Christ by crucifying Him. However, thru their foolishness they fulfilled the plan of salvation for all mankind. Romans 1:19 Everyone knows that there is a God. Our own timeframe is created upon a before Christ and after Christ. Due to the sacrifice of Christ every person has the opportunity to be saved. It's foolishness to many that one person years ago could die to save the future. Romans 1:26-32 It's not Gods will for anyone to perish but many will turn against God and will turn to themselves seeking after their own lusts. We commonly think that we are the only ones that are going thru something, no one understands what our battle feels like. But Christ himself was rejected and is still rejected today. We seek after things in this world that please us, love, drugs, alcohol, stuff, money. In the end these things will all be destroyed.
Preached by Steve Howard on February 5, 2017 (Sunday Evening).
It's About Love
1 Corinthians 13:13 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
At times we feel as if we are at a crossroads, a place where we could go in different directions. This building was placed here in our community on purpose and not by mistake. God has purposes that go beyond our flesh, thoughts. So as a body of believers in our church what is something we could all grab onto? Love. Love must be at the root of all we do. Faith and Hope will all end one day but Love will go on forever. In this life we must have faith and hope but love is greater than either one. The origin of love is God Himself. Love is powerful! It was the Love of God that saved our souls. When it comes to the love of God one must give up the flesh. Most are not on the same page with live because they live differently. If one loves themselves more than others, that's a problem. The gospel is all about love. We should go out and seek others because we love them and God loves them.

Magnificent Truths and Wisdom of God
1 Corinthians 2:6-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Wisdom is mentioned in the bible seven different times. World still can not hear the wisdom of God. The wisdom of God can't be heard by those that are lost. Many have died for the wisdom of God. Only those that are born again know the wisdom of God is truth. Jesus Christ loves the sinner. How does one think that a sinner can be born again? To the lost a Christian is foolish. When the light comes on what is there that you can not see? The Jews are still confused and shrouded by Gods wisdom. One can't have a new without having an old. Within the Old Testament Jesus taught and prepared the people for His resurrection and the removal of the old law. In the New Testament Jesus gave Himself as a sacrifice for all sins creating the new law. The spirit can not be understood by the lost only by the spirit itself. God forgives of sin forever more and one can never be unsaved. Do you want wisdom? Ask for it!

The Object of the Gospel
1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The object of Christians work is the lifting up of Jesus Christ. Confession of sins and belief in Jesus Christ is the only source of Jesus Christ and Salvation. You can declare that there is a God but refuse in His son, Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God is the only invitation that will lead through acceptance, salvation. The object in the gospel is Jesus Christ and Him alone. The stuff is not what's important, baptism, communion, etc. It's not what a person says to someone or how they say it, it's the Spirit of God that speaks to them. If one is living in sin then that person is accountable only to Christ. The gospel is not about the church, the people or what they do. Everyone has a death sentence no matter who they are. The message is simple. One is saved and kept by the Word. There is no other way but through Jesus Christ that one can be saved. So the message is clear, Jesus died and yet rose again. Your life begins with Jesus and it will end with Jesus.
